My Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista shutdown spontaneously
My Dell Inspiron 1525(Special Edition) has started to shutdown spontaneously recently. I have had it for about 1 year and half and it only started last month. It runs on Windows Vista.
My Friend and I thought it was a Flash/Internet Explorer problem at first since it would only happen on sites like Facebook and The Guy with the Glasses. However, It's started happening when we weren't using Internet Explorer. Also, we thought it was a Spyware/Virus problem but when we ran AVG Freeware and Spybot, they both also caused the the labtop to shutdown spontaneously.
Also, it doesn't go into a shutdown sequence when it happens. And after turning it back on, the computer doesn't mention anything about an improper shutdown.
Does anyone have an idea on what is causing these shutdown to happen spontaneously?
I think you may have a virus? I recommend that you do a System Restore to the time, you say about a month ago? anyway, restore it to that time & hopefully the problems will be gone.

To active the bluetooth please follow the instructions below;
Go to start
click the control panel
select hardware and sound
click on the bluetooth device option
click on the bluetooth options at the top then click activate
please note:
If you do not have "Bluetooth Devices" listed, this means that your Inspiron does not have a built-in Bluetooth chip. Therefore, you cannot activate Bluetooth on your pc without a third-party Bluetooth adapter and software.
Generally with laps the reason for a spontaneous shutdown is power. Either your battery is low or the transformer for power is going bad or is bad. There is information under the control panel, then power options which show the power settings and a meter to check the amount of power left and what is being used for power. Check those two items and you may fine your problem. Also make sure the battery is properly inserted into the slot, if it is loose a bit of movement may trigger the shutdown.
try this....
go to start | run | control
go to power options
on the advanced tab there will be a option called
"when i press the power button on my computer"
select the "shutdown" option
click apply and ok
then try shutdown your machine using the power button
This is happening because the Dell webcam central is accessing the webcam at the same time as yahoo messenger. Click on start and click on Run(XP), Type MSCONFIG in start search (Vista) and you'll get the system configuration utility. Open it and go to the startup tab. Uncheck anything related to Dell webcam. Click on Apply and OK and restart the computer. If yahoo messenger shows a black screen uninstall Yahoo messenger and reinstall with the more recent version.
Usually this happens when the vista boot loader fails. During boot up, keep tapping F8 and then select Disable Automatic Restart... and get the stop error code which usually starts with 0x
Hibernate issues are generally an issue with the Video driver. Try the following:
Update to the latest list of drivers from support.dell.com
BIOS
Video Driver
see if the issue is resolved.
If not, then try editing the startup group of MSCONFIG and see if an item running at startup is causing the issue. (Start, RUN, MSCONFIG, OK to open MSCONFIG)
