When I try to light my Kitchenaid stove the stove top just clicks for several minutes trying to ignite. It usaually starts off with a small flame even on high and as it warms up the flame gets to where it should be. After it runs for a few minutes I can turn it on and relight it or turn on another burner with no problem.
Your gas jets are dirty.. clean them with a toothbrush (after everything is cooled down).. you can use the selfclean to clean the iron pieces that cover the burners..
be careful with kitchen aid self cleaning.. there is a known issue with the thermal fuses blowing quite easily on most self cleaning cycles..
good luck

We are having the same problem and the house stinks like gas because of it. did you find a solution yet? We are going to try blowing compressed air into the injectors to see if there is any debris in it. I hope it works. Good luck.
