You must remove the bottom of the DS. There are security screws that need to be removed. It takes a special screw driver to remove them. There are also 3 or 4 regular small phillips head screws that must be removed. Then the bottom can be removed. Be careful not to break the power switch off when removing the buttom. Once the bottom is off you can see the slot and unsolder it. You will need really good desoldering and soldering skills and the pins that will need to be removed and resoldered are small. You'll need a very small tipped solering iron. You won't find one small enough at radioshack. You'll have to order one special from a store online. Once you have the new slot put in you then just put it all back together in reverse.
