I try to start the tv and all I hear is a slight squeeling noise, think it is the color wheel. I just bought a new lamp. the tv makes the noise it initially makes telling me it is trying to start but two blinking lights appear in the front. The lights are the power and temp lights.

If you hear a squeeling noise, then that would be your color wheel. When you replaced the lamp, did you reset the lamp hours? Did you check the power from ballast with a voltmeter to see if you are getting power to the lamp?

Install new lamp, nothing comes on ,change back to old lamp still nothing

Hi,If the lamp didn't do the work it could be that the problem is with something else.If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast.Do you hear buzzing or high pitch sounds? If you do it could be a problem with the color wheel. The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming noises.Make sure the door cover is properly shut other wise it wont lamp light up.

the lamp led will light when the color wheel is defective. If the noise you hear is a buzzing or screeching the color wheel is the most likely cause.

Tv work come on , all 3 lights blinking

All 3 leds blinking is a Lamp error. Pull the lamp and see if it is blown. If so, replace. This error can also be caused by many parts of the optical block = colorwheel, balast, or DMD board. If you hear a buzz sound when it tries to fire lamp then the lamp is bad. If not listen for the spinning high pitched squeel of the colorwheel coming up. If you hear this but no buzz from the ballast, you likely have a bad ballast. If you do not hear the color wheel, you have a bad color wheel or DMD board.

Color fades out on tv

I have the same tv and the same problem (color banding, incorrect colors, colors blinking) occured after I replaced the lamp. I had a tv repairman take a look at my unit and he said the color index was incorrect, the tv doesn't know the correct colors to display. The best way to fix that problem is to replace the "light engine". The repairman replaced the "light engine" to my tv and everything is working great. My tv was still until warrenty so I don't know how much a new "light engine" would have cost.

I have a Samsung 61 inch DLP tv. Was very happy with it for the past 3 years. Lamp went out in Feb. Got a new one and replaced. A few weeks ago, it started making a screeching noise. Fans were ok,...

It is b.s. but it's not only samsung that have poor reliability. At least they have some customer service. Some new brands are a nightmare. I would suggest changing the ballast first, and if that doesn't do it, you're probably looking at a dmd board which is very expensive. Only other thing I can say is to try removing and reseating the lamp switch again. Also listen for the color wheel to start up a few seconds after you push power on. Color wheel is started by dmd board, lamp is driven by ballast.

Loud noise

I believe it is the color wheel. The motor might be going bad or it has dirt or dust in it.

I hope this helps
