I recently purchased a JVC Everio GZ-MG145 HD camcorder and
the filming has been great.
However.
I cannot get the files onto my mac.
I can view them on the windows pc, but they can't be
accepted in Windows Movie Maker.
On the mac, the camera comes up as normal with a thumbdrive
icon, and I can find the movies on there, but they're a .mod file which a) i've
never heard of and b) isn't accepted by quicktime or vlc. When I put the disc
that comes with the camera into the pc it works and it installed
"PowerCinema NE for Everio" and that works fine. But on the Mac,
which is where I need the files, it comes up with a CD on the desktop with a whole
load of junk on it with no installer or anything I can find. Can anyone help
me?
I've been pointed in directions of codecs but I'm not sure
what I'm dealing with there.
Please help!
Cheers.
The software iVerio might help you. It transfers and converts automatically all your videos from your HDD camcorder.
