Dell 1815dn jam in automatic document feeder on last page.

The Dell 1815dn confirms successful FAX transmission by beeping and returning to Standby mode.when the last page of your document has been sent successfully, No other method of confirmation is provided or possible with this model.

There might be a paper jam or issue with the drum .. please remove the jammed paper or contact authorised dell support

This error message "Document in ADF" that you are getting means that you need to remove foreign object from the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). Kindly follow the procedure below in clearing document jams:

Document jams in the ADF (Document Tray)

1. First, press Stop/Reset.
2. If a multi-page document is loaded, remove any documents other than the jammed page from the ADF. 3. Then, open the Feeder Cover.
4. From under the roller to the Feeder Cover side, remove the jammed page.
5. If a document is not jammed, check the document feed area if there's foreign material. If there's any, carefully remove it.
6. Close the Feeder Cover.

NOTE:

• If documents remain in the ADF after pressing during scanning, [Document in ADF] will appear on the LCD. Press so that the remaining document is automatically fed out.

• When rescanning the document after clearing the error, rescan it from the first page.

Document jams in the ADF (inner side)

1. Press Stop/Reset.
2. If a multi-page document is loaded, remove any documents other than the jammed page from the ADF, then open the Feeder Cover.
3. Raise the paper release lever (A) then remove the jammed page from under the roller to the Feeder Cover side.
4. Open the Document Cover and pull out the document from the inner side.
5. Close the Document Cover.
6. Close the Feeder Cover.

Note: When rescanning the document after clearing the error, rescan it from the first page.

If it is from the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder ), it probably is a speck on the scanner glass. Lift up the top scanner cover and clean the glass esp. the narrow glass on the left side. Also, lift the small ADF cover and clean the rollers with a lint free cloth dampened with a mixture of alcohol and water.

Solution: Remove foreign object from the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) - MX310
Check the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for obstructions
Follow this procedure to check the ADF for obstructions. You do not need to turn off the power when clearing document jams.
Document jams in the ADF (Document Tray)

1. Press <Stop/Reset>.
   
   
2. If a multi-page document is loaded, remove any documents other than the jammed page from the ADF, then open the Feeder Cover.
   
   
   
   
   
3. Remove the jammed page from under the roller to the Feeder Cover side.
   
   
   
   
4. Pull out the jammed document from the ADF. If the document cannot be easily pulled out, proceed to section Document jams in the ADF (inner side).
   
   
   
   
5. After removing the jammed document or if a document is not jammed, check the document feed area to make sure there is no foreign material. If you find foreign material, carefully remove it.
   
6. Close the Feeder Cover.

   Note: The document may not feed properly depending on the media type, or your environment, such as when the temperature and humidity are either too high or too low.
   In this case, reduce the number of document pages to approximately half of the loading capacity. Another alternative is to scan from the platen glass.

If your Dell 1815DN is jamming at Document Feeder (ADF assembly) the display may read Document Jam. You should replace the ADF Seperation Pad (Part# D1815-Z3) and the ADF Pickup Assembly (Part# D1815-Z4). Here is a video that shows you how. Iteminc.com has these parts and ships same day.

Look inside for paper jams stuck between ng rollers.

Also, rollers might be disaligned so you need to check them as well.
