Error messages: U150 + Ink tank errors have occured
Hi I have two error messages. 1st on the display screen of my canon IP 6700D which says - U 150 The following ink tank cannot be recognised. 2nd on computer screen running xp - Ink tank errors have occured. Open the printer cover & replace the ink tanks on which ink lamps are off. Cancel printing. ( 5 tank lights off 1 light on solid - should all be blinking)
This situation has occurred by my refilling the original ink tanks with quality ink designed for my brand and model of printer. Had disabled ink level indicator as requested by drivers. Have only refilled 3 times on 1 tank and once on other 5 tanks.
The problem is the drivers and chips on the canon tanks. Does any one know a way around the drivers and chips to stop these error messages?
I spoke to canon support and they say error messages nothing to do with drivers or chips (yeah right). machine faulty but grey area as to canon repairing under warranty. How do ya like that eh????? Their advice - buy our ink!
I refill cartridges. Started getting error messages that alternate between colors C and M each time I reset the cartridge. The message is "The remaining level of the following ink cannot be correctly detected."
I get the same error message for ink tank PC. The ink tank is fine, Canon brand and has plenty of ink, but this ables the whole damm printer...no more Canon for me.I get the same error message for ink tank PC. Replacing An Ink Tank
Use the following procedure to replace empty ink tanks or when an ink tank error appears.
Confirm that the printer is powered on and press the <Open> button. (The paper output tray will open.)
Lift the scanning unit (printer cover) completely. (The print head will move to the replacement position.)
NOTE: When the scanning unit (printer cover) is opened more than ten minutes, the print head moves to the right side. If this occurs, close the scanning unit (printer cover), and open it again.
Open the inner cover.
Press the ink tank's tab (1), then remove it from the slot (2).
Unpack the ink tank and pull the orange tape off completely in the direction of the arrow and remove the film.
Note: Tear the orange tape carefully along the dotted line. If the orange tape remains, printing problems may occur.
<4> Tape is completely removed.
<5> Tape remains. Remove the orange protective cap located on the bottom of the ink tank by twisting as shown in the diagram.
Caution: Do not touch the ink tank contact <6>. Doing so may cause printing problems. Do not squeeze the side of ink tanks as this may cause the ink to leak out. Do not reattach the protective cap once you have removed it.
Insert ink tanks into the print head.
Note: Press the mark <PUSH> on the ink tank firmly until you hear a click.
Ensure that all the ink tanks are installed properly and the ink tank lamps light red.
I have Canon M560 printer installed 8 months ago. I replaced the CLI 221 Magenta and CLI221 Cyan ink cartridges, won't work and got this message Error 1411. Tried repeatedly to reinstall the ink cartridges and still have this message coming back. Any solution you could offer? I would appreciate it. Thank you.

There was plenty of ink left in my Cyan tank but just replacing it with a new Canon CLI-8C one, as suggested by techguru005, did the job. I suppose that the chip must have been faulty? Let's see how long this one lasts! Thanks, techguru005, it's fixed for now.
have had a MP810 about 3 months. Recently I've been getting a U150
error message. My C tank is not lighting up and being recognised. When
I open up and replace the tank the light comes on. Initially this
allowed me to carry on printing but now I have a constant error message
even after replacing the tank. Is there a permanent solution to this annoying problem? I would be grateful for any assistance.
I too was getting the error for unrecognized ink cartridge. Then the
little green circ board fell out of the end of the ink cartridge and it
hit me that maybe if I put in the little green circ board from the old
ink cartridge of the same color, then maybe the ink cartridge would be
recognized. It worked! So don't throw out an ink cartridge that still
has ink just because of that error and hold onto your empty cartridges
in case you need the little green/gold circ boards.
I get the same error message for ink tank PC. The ink tank is fine, Canon brand and has plenty of ink, but this ables the whole damm printer...no more Canon for me.
