My screen reads "SIM not allowed MM#3", and in the upper right, next to the icon showing how many bars of reception I have, there is an icon of a phone handset with a red slash bar across it. I cannot place or receive calls, nor can I access voice mail. Help!

This means you have no service in the place the phone is at.

You need to go somewhere where you get full service and try it.
power down, remove battery, replace battery, then see what it says when you are in a place that you would get good service.

Still have problem, go to your phone carrier and have them check the sim card and your service, it could be your shut down.

Have echo and new apple i pad how do i install it to get wifi. i have 0 knowlwdge

Follow the small sheet of instructions that came with the ECHO.
if you want to hear music (and other audio) in stereo, attach a separate pair of stereo speakers to the 3.5 mm jack on the back of the ECHO (I'm assuming it has one like my Echo Dot does).
you may have to push the 3.5 mm plug in hard for it to connect to both stereo channels on the cable. If you only hear sound out of your left speaker, both channels aren't connecting. Disconnect and reconnect the 3.5 mm cable a few times, being sure to push it in hard. This will loosen up the jack so that the plug connects easier and correctly.

On your iPad, open the App Store by tapping its icon.
in the search box at the top, type Alexa.
From the list provided, click the Open button next to the icon for Amazon Alexa, and follow any instructions that may follow. The icon should appear on you iPad, most likely on the last screen of icons (assuming the you have more than one screen of icons). Sweep to the left until you get to the last screen of icons to see it. Then click on the icon to open the app. When the app opens, click on the "3 horizontal bar" icon in the upper left corner. A menu will drop down. Click Settings. Then, click SET UP A NEW DEVICE , and follow the instructions.

Why does screen read 'Searching' also have no dialling tone

Dear Pam,
The symptom you are having occurs only on a cell phone, and it happens when you phone is out of range of a tower.
Cell phones use signals that are relayed from towers, which is why many phones do not work at all way out in the country.
They are too far from a tower.
Most cell phones have some sort of an icon on the screen showing a thing resembling a tower, with some lines or bars along side it, showing you the strength of your signal.
The more lines or bars, the stronger your signal.
When you get too far from a tower, you will have no bars, and no reception.
God bless your efforts.

How to pair bluetooth device

First, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your Lenovo. Right-click on the wireless connection icon in the Windows system tray. The icon is usually a wedge-shaped icon showing signal strength bars. The icon is usually located at the bottom right corner of the taskbar at the bottom of your screen. So, right click on that icon and select Open Network and Sharing Center. In the new window locate and click on Change adapter settings on the left-hand menu. In the new box that opens search among the tabs for information to confirm Bluetooth is "enabled".
Next, according to Sony's help guide try the following:
Unable to connect the speaker to a BLUETOOTH device with One-touch connection (NFC)
Keep the smartphone close to the speaker until the smartphone reacts. If you fail to connect, move the smartphone
slowly on the N-Mark of the speaker.
Check that the NFC function of the smartphone is set to on.
If the smartphone is in a case, remove it.
NFC reception sensitivity varies, depending on the device. If you repeatedly fail to connect the speaker with a
smartphone by one touch, connect it to the speaker by on-screen operation.
Check that your smartphone is compatible with NFC. Look up information on the issue on the customer support
website.

Its a lock with an arrow circal round it near the battery icon

You phone has it's screen rotation locked so if you turn the phone on it's side the display does not automatically turn, great for reading in bed. Double clicking your home button so that currently running apps are shown then keep swiping these icons to the right until your iPod controls appear, you should see an icon with a circular arrow. Click this.

MY TOMTOM ONE IS WAITING FOR A VALID GPS SIGNAL I HAVE ALREDY STARTED TWICES

Turn on your tt and let it bootup. After it has booted up go to the map screen. On the bottom right where the bars are for satellite reception. Tap the bars this will take you to the screen telling you the device code etc. On the upper far right where the battery icon is tap the screen again. This will take you to a screen showing the satellites. If you see grey bars on the graph just wait awhile. Sometimes when your tt has not been turned on for awhile or you have turned it on after traveling a few miles it may take up to 30 minutes to get a lock.
Hope this helps

Icon description

that is the GPS indicator, which shows that your phone is GPS compatible (which is now a feature that is required by the FCC). if you look in the menu under "settings" i believe that there is a "location" setting which would allow you to select "location" or "911 only".

1. Turn unit off, by pressing and holding button on lower right side for 2 to 6 seconds until it goes off.
2. turn unit on, by pressing and holding same button for 3 to 8 seconds until the warning screen comes on (with the small "agree" box at the bottom of the screen. It may not say "agree" in a language you recognize, but either press it and "agree" or wait for it to go away.

4. Press the icon. The next screen will have 6 windows, the lower right will have red lips icon.(it is the "language icon")
5. Press this lower right icon. The next window will have two boxes in the upper right corner. one above the other.
