You're kidding, right. They're MISSED calls. That means they called and you weren't there. The phone stores the number to let you know they tried. The only thing you can do to "answer" them, is to call them back yourself at the number listed.
Most of the telecom service providers offer call blocking features. In addition to this, most of the vtech cordless phone sets have built-in features through which you can block incoming calls from a specific number.
Create a "Call Block List" on the vtech phone and store the Caller ID information of unwanted callers in the list. The numbers you feed in the block list will get a busy signal every time they try to call you.
Ring up the customer service of the telecom company that is providing you the phone service. Tell the representative that you want to get your incoming calls blocked from a specific number. The company will then add that number to a list of blocked numbers for your particular phone number. In the future, every time an unwanted caller tries to ring you up, he will hear a recording saying the number has been blocked.
Visit the website donotcall.gov. Add your phone number to the website's list of phone numbers that cannot be reached by telemarketers and businesses.
Since you didn't specify the model of your VTech DECT 6.0 phone I can't give a definite answer, but many models have a button marked "CID" (possibly with an arrow or something else). Then the cursor buttons navigate through the list.
Enter the model of your phone into the search box at http://www.vtechphones.com/vtechphones/index.cfm/support/general/manuals/ to get a copy of the manual.
Without knowing the model of your phone I can't give you a definite answer, but on many VTech phones you press the CID button to see the call history. UP/DOWN scrolls through the list. The DELETE button deletes the item.
If you need a manual, enter the model number into the search box at http://www.vtechphones.com/vtechphones/index.cfm/support/general/manuals/
Since you declined to specify the model of your Uniden phone, I can only direct you to select it from the list beginning at
http://www.uniden.com/scat/cordlessphones_mnl to download a copy of the manual.
The message indicator is the phone alerting you that you have missed calls. Press the CID button (the up arrow) then menu. You are now in the call list. Scroll through it (using up & down arrows) making sure to view all calls with the word NEW next to them. Alternatively, you can press menu while in the call list and then choose delete all this will erase the entire list.
The light also blinks to indicate voice mail. Many phone providers offer this service for free and you should contact them to ask if you have it / how to check it.
