Why does the monitor go black while my son is playing an on-line computer game. It doesn't seem to happen otherwise, even if we are on the internet.

It is either your computer is over heating or the mother board is going bad. spray the fan out real good with air then try it and see if that fixes the problem. also make sure that it is not laying flat that way it gets more air flow.

It seems from the begining you have had nothing but trouble, if under warranty return the item, because it will eventually fail, it is a matter of probability.

When playing games on my computer my monitor will blank out

First make sure your video card driver is up to date, and the monitor driver as well when they are available. If the computer reboots when this happens, there is a hardware conflict potentially.

If the monitor goes black like it was shut off abruptly and computer did not shut down- replace all the electrolytic capacitors in the monitor on the power supply board. This should forestall an inevitable failure of the monitor.

I'm afraid I haven't played the game and I don't know exactly how to connect in game. but I can help otherwise: If the setup seems fine in-game, it is probably an external internet issue. You must make sure your internet is connected properly, the bandwidth must be high enough and there should be no firewalls blocking it. Full support for the game can be found here and router support here.

I cannot get through more than 1 or 2 games maximum when playing on multiplayer Call of Duty: Black Ops for XBOX 360. It keeps crashing. This does not happen on single player, or nazi zombies. I can even...

It sounds like your internet provider/router isn't giving you a whole lot of bandwidth to work with. That simply means your internet isn't giving you enough space to actually play call of duty. Your zombie game is probably playing alright because only four people need to connect to each other. That doesn't require a lot of space and memory of internet to do. However multiplayer demands a lot more bandwidth from your router. That might be why you aren't connecting. This could be for a number of reasons.
  • Other people in your household are using the internet too, be it laptops, smart phones, printers, other gaming counsels, etc. Simply turn off these devices to receive more bandwidth for your xbox.
  • Your router is a little too older for video games. If you are using a wireless router for your xbox, try plugging it directly to the wall or router.
Hope this helps

Game uses GPU power, it needs more resource to generate picture then when you are surfing. If you use not integrated video card check GPU cooler fun is working or not, it may overheated and stops responding until cools down.

Welcome to Vista. Windows Vista is automatically set up to power down after you have left it alone for too long. If you press the power button everything should be fine. Otherwise tell me what happens.

Wavy lines, goes black during video games.

It sounds to me like the monitor's refresh rate is too low to support your current settings, and the demands of the game. Have you tried adjusting the refresh rate? If I'm right, you should be able to fix the wavy lines that way. I'm not sure how much control over the refresh rate the game takes, but if you can fix the wavy lines and the game still doesn't work, I think you're not likely to get the game to work on this monitor.
