Instructions for zilla digital power center are unclear

I don't understand which programmable numbers on the power strip correlate to the which outlet? there are 8 outlets, 2 yellow (day), 2 blue (night), and 4 general power outlets but there are only 7 programmable outlets. The instructions say that the yellow and blue outlets cannot be on at the same time and when one (day) turns off the other (night) will be able to be powered on. this should mean that there are 6 programmable outlets or 8... but there are 7. I will begin a brute force process of elimination but if someone knows the secrets of this power bar and could share them that would save a lot of time and frustrations.

I have the same problem and can't get the lights to automatically turn off and on by the time cycle I set. I have to manually turn them on/off which is useless. Did you get an answer?

The 2 Yellow (Normally OFF in Auto mode) and the 2 Blue (Normally ON) are the only 4 outlets controlled by the digital times... Yes there are 7 programable settings, they all control the yellow and blue outlets. If you remember, your timer is also used as a wave maker.. So we set Program 1 to turn ON at 6am and OFF at 7am (the yellow outlets are ON between 6am and 7am) now we set Program 2 to turn ON at 9am and OFF at 11am (now the yellow outlets are ON between 6am and 7 am AND between 9am and 11am BUT are OFF between 7am and 9am) and so on and so forth with 7 different programs.

I cant get it programed where its on auto. I set it up like the instructions say buy when I set it to auto the wrong lights turn on

Copy following link:

The blue outlets are for nighttime operation, and yellow for daytime
Add more detail to question like what you have programmed, what you are operating, and where each light is plugged in.

Need instructions to set time for 8 outlet power Strip timer Utilitech

Copy following link to identify power strip timer:
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#striptimer

Zilla, Utilitec, GE strip timers use basically the same format for programming.
For each ON time, there has to be a corresponding OFF time, and days for On and Off times cannot conflict.
Best guess: you have a conflict or incomplete on-off program.

With Zilla timer, there is added level of complexity since the ON-OFFs are set for different day and night outlets.

Add a comment with the exact timer model number so expert can read the manual alongside you.

1) There is no repair for defective timer.
According to manual, under Initial Timer Operation: yellow outlet is ON at 4:00 pm.
Make sure Mode button is not set to OFF.

2) Scheduling timer: Think about the zilla timer this way:
Day is 12 hours and night is 12 hours.
Your total schedule is only 9 hours, but it overlaps day and night.

If timer 'night' starts at 6pm and ends at 6am, then your programming overlaps day and night.
If timer 'night' starts at 12midnight and ends at 12noon, then your programming still overlaps day and night.

3) To solve zilla time problem, set current time differently.
4) Or buy GE or Utilitec 24-hour programmable power strip

How do we clear out the timer settings

Timer is not identified.
Open following link to identify timer and download manual.
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#zilla

1) If you have zilla digital power strip, there is no reset button.
It appears you can reset timer by removing small battery located on back of timer.
Battery serves as a back-up for timer settings, and display will not show without battery.
Most battery-operated timers that do not have reset button are reset by removing battery.

Some battery operated timers retain programming forever even if battery is removed for months, and then programming is still there when new battery is installed. However this type of timer has a reset button, but zilla does not.

2) A second way to clear programming is to press PRG button to review each program, and set each program to another time. I don't know if this will work since you can't 'zero' out the settings.

I have the timer set, all 7 cycles to come on at 6am go off at 6pm. set and checked. put mode on auto but light did not come on. it only came on when set on the on mode. please help, thank you

You are having problem programming zilla digital power strip timer.
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#zilla

Either timer is defective, or programming has conflicts that cause timer to ignore programming, or blue-yellow outlets are not understood, or combination of these problems.

Zilla yellow outlets are for daytime hours.
Blue outlets for nighttime.
The instruction manual does NOT specify what hours are for daytime. 6 am to 6 pm? Or 12 am to 12pm?
The zilla analog timer divides day and night at 12 and 12.

If digital timer is also 12 and 12, then you cannot set ON at 5:59am and OFF at 5:59pm without fudging the current time setting. For example offset current time by exactly 6 hours.

If you have digital timer, the programming is complicated but typical for programmable timers.
Read, and re-read instructions. Write out the parts that are confusing. Read more information on link above.
