Projector Sharp XG-NV6XU

I've a Sharp XG-NV6XU. It was working fine initially but then one day while watching there were green color spots all over the screen. Then all the spots started to move to the middle of the screen and now it stays there as a big green spot. It is there with or without the sources. Please help.

Yellow in center of picture

The blue device is dying allowing green to shine thru instead of white. Very common problem called color decay. Happens on average about evey3-4000 hours. I suggest next purchase a dlp product, they are immune to this problem. Good luck

Sharp notevision xgnv6xu oval yellow spot

I have a similar issue with yellow pattern on the left and top right of my screen. Took it apart and found the blue lcd had damage that matched the yellow area that was projected. I thought it was the lens but it was the blue lcd .It has gone bad and no replacement. Are you interested in selling the bulb or the whole projector? I have since purchased another projector and am keeping the bad one for spare parts. Hope this helps..Ben

Looks like the wrong lamp was installed, or the cooling fan is not working. Careful - it may be permanently damaged, as the LCD inside can be hurt by high temperatures.

Sharp notevision XG-MB70X

No special tools needed. these units (dlp projectors) are designed so the lamps and color wheels can be changed out by the user. Some can figure out how to do this easily without instructions but to be safe just do a quick search and find step by step instructions. You can also refer to your owner's manual.

Green or Yellow Spot on screen

It could be a dirty filter or dust in the intake holes. Vacuum (preferably) or blow out the vent holes. The projector may be overheating because of this.
