Try this, Run as Administrator and set the program EXE to Compatability Mode for XP SP2, and also, run as Administrator, do this for everything, patches included.

I have original eyewitness encyclopedia space universe cd. but when i install it a error message shown in the computer. "[1058] the sound decompression software has not been install properly. please...

Hi ,
This product is not compatible with Windows 7 but it should run under Windows XP . If you are running under XP , I suggest you delete the program , reboot your machine and reinstall the program under Windows XP . If it still fails , you could need to reinstall Win XP or use the recovery disc . Launch the disc , select " install a new version of XP " and choose " repair " when you'll be asked to .
Make first sure you have installed SP3 and tested your program with XP fully updated .
Best regards ,
fanaudi .

I also have the Error [1058] Sound Decompression problem. How do I solve this?

Go to the Avanquest Software Group website, the Global Software Publishing group joined Avanquest, and go into their Contact Us section, click on their online FAQ database link, type in Castle Explorer and download the patch to fix the problem with the buffering Error.

This is the link http://www.avanquest.com/UK/aq-you/support/techsupport.html

If you have Vista your out of luck sorry <.> this helps only XP users that have services packs installed.

Have fun!
