This problem has been seen for awhile on all flavors of hardware: CPU X: Machine Check Exception: 0000000000000004. In can come from a kernel recompile after new drivers have or havenot been upgraded. Upgrading OS on older hardware can cause this exception throw. At any rate your system is now rendered unstable and probably should be returned to the last good known configuration - so goes the old addage - "upgrade or die!"

Laptop hp 450 just blinks when switched on,what would be the problem

HP probook 450, g2, g2, *** g6 generation ?
gen 0 is 6 years old. so no CCFL lamps to die, yeah
  • first remove that old huge battery (bad leave it out until PC run right again.)
  • with AC pack removed push power on for 10 to 30 sec.
  • then release power button.
  • now put back AC pack only end to end, no battery
does the screen work?
does the fan blow does the PC BEEP, or does BLINK codes?
does the screen ever do anything now, even the smallest of error, or (hit esc to enter setup) if yes then see if BIOS pages work (esc F1, F10) this ends phase one testing, results dictate next actions.

This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.

Uninstall and reinstall the current driver and if no joy, Try and older version, but nothing over 1yr old. If still not working, try a BETA version if available.

I have an old hp dl 380 G2 that will not power up it was unplugged for a coupel months I get amber lights but nothing happens when I hit the start button would dead battery on motherboard cause this?

The amber clearly states there are some problems with the hardware. Either with the power module, CPU or memory. Try contacting the vendor and get it repalced.

ERROR #17

According to my information Error 17 means:

CPU error (Interrupt exception)

Therefore I would suggest you take the machine to a repair center and have the main board checked out. This does not appear to be an error you can easily fix at home.
