Dear, I had the same problem with my iPod. It's because (I guess) your modem/router has MAC adress filtering. You need to get your ipod full acces through you MAC filtering. To know your iPod's MAC adress, go to: Settings > General > Info > (scroll down) Wi-Fi Address. If you give me some more info 'bout your router/modem, I'll search some more info.
Kind regards, FriskYR

IPod touch-1.1.4 / 8gb ...when I log in to facebook,I can only see the top 1/2 of my homepage & the bottom half says it is loading but really is not. So,when I tap on the main menu button (on the screen)...

I had issues with my iPod touch in a similar situation, for me it all had to do with the WiFi component inside. It got damaged or fried from the over usage. It would load tiny bits of information on pretty much anything internet related but then die out trying to load forever. I would have to turn off wifi and try again. I had to take into apple and get the piece replaced, by which I firgured it was time to upgrade.

I RECOMMEND you try this first:
1. Uninstall Facebook app and re-install it.
  • Press and hold the "Home" button untill apps are shaking
  • Touch the "X" on the facebook app you want to uninstall
  • Re-download and install app from app store.
2. Update the iPod version
  • Settings
  • General
  • Software Update
3. Take into apple support get the wifi component replaced
or
4. Upgrade to a newer device :/
hope it helps.

How to Fix Wi-Fi on Iphone/Ipod Problem?

This are the common problems of Iphone/Ipod Wireless Fidelity...

* iPod Touch shows no WiFi address (Tap Settings > General > About and scroll down to WiFi Address.

* iPod touch appears to be connected to a WiFi network but cannot use Wi-Fi for checking email and surfing the Internet.

* iPod Touch WiFi icon is showing as grayed out.

* When you tap Settings > WiFi and then you see no network entries.

First you need to back up your data by syncing your iPod touch to iTunes. It is very important you do this before proceeding with the fixes below.

1.On the iPod Touch go to Settings > General > Reset and then select Reset Network Settings. Now see if the device displays the WiFi address under Settings > General > About and scrolling down toWiFi Address. If there is a WiFi address listed then you issue is resolved. Else try method 2 below.

2. On the iPod Touch go to Settings > General > Reset and then select Erase All Content and Settings. Now see if the device displays the WiFi address under Settings > General > About and scrolling down to WiFi Address. Ifthere is a WiFi address listed then you issue is resolved. Else try method 3 below.

3. If the above fixes don't work then the only thing left is to restore the iPod touch software using iTunes which will erase all data on the device. So before restoring make sure you back up your data by syncing with iTunes.

After the restore is complete, you can re-sync with iTunes to load the data back to your iPodTouch. Now see if your device shows a WiFi address (tap Settings >General > About and scroll down to WiFi Address). If none of the above settings and fixes work ,then you might want to consider getting your iPod touch repaired by Apple.

Hope you see it useful...

I cannot connect my ipod touch to my router how do i connect it?

First you'll need to turn on your Wi-Fi.

1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then (turn WiFi on)
2. Set iPod touch to ask if you want to join a new network: Choose (WiFi) and turn (Ask to Join Networks) ON or OFF.

Then you'll need to join a WiFi network (your D-Link for instance)

1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then wait until your D-Link shows up in the list of networks.
2. Select your network and if you have a password for your router make sure you type it. (networks that require a password have a lock icon next to it) then tap (join)

Once you join a WiFi network manually, iPod touch will automatically connect to it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, iPod touch joins the one last used.

When iPod touch is connected to a WiFi network, the WiFi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen shows the connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.

Good Luck

I cant get my ipod hooked up to my roter and wii

This is first assuming you are talking about an IPOD Touch. You first have to have wireless connectivity. Once you have wifi go to:

1. Touch Settings

2. Touch Wifi

3. Turn your Wifi ON

4. Select a Wifi network

5. Enter the WEP Key you have created on your router (assuming you have secured your network).

6. Hit Connect

Wifi grey area

Here is a way that solved the problem for me.
Downgrade the ipod touch to firmware 1.1.4. You have to put your ipod into DFU mode ('not recovery mode) and you have to have an itunes version that supports this old firmware. 7.5 oder 7.7 i think.
to load your own firmware you simply hold the shift-button while you push the restore button.

After you have firmware 1.1.4 on your ipod touch, download the jailbreaker "Ziphone". This programm has the option to fix the "no Wifi" problem. Look in the advanced options.
In my case, this was the only thing that solved the problem. I tried restoring it often but nothing worked.
After Ziphone fixed your Problem, you can update the Touch to the latest firmware. Wifi was still working, at least for me
