It sounds like the Screen is coming to the end of its life. Has the screen been recently moved or dropped? Plasmas tend to lose its contrast after 60,000 hours of use. It could also be a loose connection from your source to your TV. Have you checked all your connections to the TV?

I dont think you can. The time on there does not matter, if the bulb is going it, it is going out. It does not go out when it reaches the bulb life that i know of. If it does i have never heard of it.

the person you talked to at samsung is more than likely a customer support rep that does know anything but what his computer tells him. i have seen this symptom several times in many makes and models. if you can give me your full model number i will give you a part number to fix this issue.
