Put about 2 tablesppons oil into the popper. Put 2 or 3 kernals into the oil. Turn the popper ON. When the kernals pop,.the oil is hot enough. Add 1/2 to 3/4 cup corn and enjoy when its done.

What size is the popper 6 or 8 qts

The West Bend 82306 Stir Crazy® Popcorn Maker ca be either 6 or 8 qts.

The 6-qt model has a rounded domed shape as per the picture above; the 8-qt model has a straight-sided top.

I purchased the stir crazy model 82306 and it does not pop the corn properly. Less than half of it pops. I have never had this problem with other West Bend stir crazy poppers in the past. On 4 separate...

I have one of these poppers and have been impressed with the minimal number of unpopped kernels.

On only one occassion have I not been satisfied and suspect it was due to insufficient oil being added.

Make sure you are adding sufficient oil to aid heat transfer to the kernels.

The manual got missed placed can you tell me the amount of kernnels to use in it. It is a six qt. stir crazy popper

Place popper base on flat, dry surface. The heat-resistant base allows for safe table use.
Preparing Popcorn
There are two models of the Stir Crazy® Corn Popper, one for making up to 6-quarts and the second for making up to 8-quarts of popcorn. Listed below are the proper amounts of oil, corn and butter (or margarine) to use for making various amounts of popcorn. Do not attempt to make 8 quarts of popcorn in the 6-quart model.

Brown oily leak

The oil is leaking around the stirring-arm-motor shaft -- it needs a new seal. It's not the oil you're using.
