usually dvd players have a wire that needs to be connected to the parking brake, to watch while vehicle is moving you can put a toggle switch to this wire and run the wire to vehicle ground. hope that helps
usually not a code. it is unlawful to drive without the parking brake feature hooked up.... but the way to do it is remove the wire from the parking brake and ground it. it will then think the parking brake is on
i believe if you dont have the parking brake hooked up on your unit, you wont be able to watch any thing. check around online or your local audio dealer bout buying a bypass relay so you can drive and watch if you choose to. or hook that wire up right. hope this was helpfull
One of the wires at the back of the deck should be labelled parking brake. That is the wire that controls video playback. Just ground that wire and you should be good to go.
what i did is i got a 4 prong relay. its gonna have numbers on it for certain wires. the 86 is for your remote wire and the 85 is for the parking brake wire. the other 2 are just grounds.this worked on mine so it should work for yours.
To bypass the parking brake you should connect the parking brake wire from the unit to ground. It is better to do it via a switch because is illegal to watch video while you're driving. :)
What i did was get a switch from walmart. they cost less than 2 bucks...Get one that has 3 slots..1 for power, 1 for acc, 1 for ground. Plug the brake cord the acc, and splice the power and ground cords to the other two. When your switch is off you can watch video while you drive, when its on it will cut the video off and display that message.....
If you want to do it the right way, then plug it into the emergency brake line or the parking brake line...hope i helped
Just ground you brake wire directly to the metal frame. It should work fine.
