Bought this 56" TV in Nov 2005. When you try to turn it on, all you get is a very low illumination on the screen (a grey-ish color) and the LAMP LED comes on solid, then the TV shuts down in about a minute or so. There is some light coming from the back of the set where the bulb is. I've ordered a bulb, but a technician said that the bulb either works or it doesn't. I am not getting the 3 blinking LEDs on the front like Samsung says indicates a bad bulb. I do think that the screen has been somewhat darker lately in the last couple months, but now we get nothing.

Thanks for the info. The problem is that the owner's manual for the TV does not give advice on the combination of LEDs on the front that I have! How good is that? I've ordered a bulb, but the guy at the TV repait place that I called said that the bulbs either work, or don't work. I am still getting some light out of the back of the TV where the lamp is - making me think that it is not dead. Of course, he may not be giving me straight info either. The Samsung manual leaves a lot to be desired about troubleshooting - it is mainly all the wiz-bang features of the TV.
I get the grey screen as if some light from the rear projection bulb is there, but the TV does not start. The lamp indicator LED blinks and after a minute or so, the TV set goes off.
I have changed the projection bulb but the problem persists.
Any guide for a solution?
