I have a Magic chef oven, that will only heat up the oven temp to a luck warm. Had several people tell me it's a thermal coupling. How do I repace one of these, as I can not afford a new stove. It is gas. Thank you
It is a glow coil , thermocouples are on units with a free standing pilot that you have to light, if you have a range like this you may need a thermocouple if not a free standing pilot you have a electronic gas iginition system that uses a glow coil, you turn on over setting and oven glows orange then iginites if this is what you have you need new glow coil, easy to repalce

The temperature sensor in the oven needs to be replaced. Here is the part to order. As far as the top element, lift the top up and look for lose or broken wires on the element. Keep me posted.
this could be a an open probe or shorted probe connection.you need to check your temp probe harness to your main board.
there is a chance that you need to replace your temp probe.
last thing would be to replace the EOC
Turn off the power to the range. Remove the bake element from inside the oven. Be careful not to let the wires go back into the oven cavity. Take a volt/ohm meter set for ohms or continuity and test the bake element leads. If you get no reading replace the element. If you do get a reading, replace the temperature sensor in the oven.
you could have a bad ignitor check that it is actually igniting the gas and you can see flame, also check the cavity sensor a probe that sticks into the oven at the top usually on the left top corner but if the bake cycle works with good results them it is ok
check for flame when it starts give it a mibute to ignite, if it does not then you need to replace the broil ignitor.
