Vizio Speaker Making a Buzzing Noise

We have Vizio television and when turned on, the internal speakers in the television have a buzzing noise that doesn't stop until the television is turned off. Is there anything we can do to fix this problem?

My 46" Vizio has the same problem, any suggestions?

  • Anonymous Jul 16, 2008

I have the same problem. The first TV started making the sound about fours hours after I bought the TV. I took it back and brought a new TV home. This TV was fine for about two weeks and now it is making the same cracklin sound.

I am having the same problem and seems that the speakers are vibrating in the housing. I have had mine for almost a year now, so out of warranty. Anyone else have any bright ideas as to how to fix this annoying problem???

I have had the same problem with mine for a long time and had hooked my TV up to external sound output anyways. The long term problem has been that I have to turn off the internal speaker via the TV menu every time I turn the TV on. Is there a permanent way to turn off the internal speakers?

My 32" vizio I bought a week ago does the same things.

Buy an external sound system for the tv. Turn the speakers off in the TV menu. Hook the sound system up to the out speaker hookups on the tv.

You will not only have better found, you will fix the speaker buzz problem.

Speakers in TV making a buzzing noise.

Try a reset to default settings. If that does not clear it I would suggest that it is either a hardware fault or interference
A constant buzzing might be interference from the power control card. What happens if you move the set elsewhere. Also, try it on another aerial, maybe there is a problem there....perhaps

Vizio 42'' HDTV flatscreen

The TV usually hums when the backlight setting is too low. So turning it up should get rid of the problem. To do this please follow these instructions:

1. Turn the TV on.
2. Press the Menu button on the remote, located right below the channel changing button.
3. Press the down direction button, located at the middle of the remote. Press that button until the backlight is highlighted.
4. Press the right direction button until the backlight is at 100.
5. Press the OK button and then the Exit button until you get back to your picture.

Vizio speakers make a buzzing noise

It's not the speakers. I usually hear of this problem when hooked up to an HD cable box. You can adjust the volume on the cable box and also on the TV. I'll bet you don't have this problem when watching a DVD.

If the problem is what I think it is, your HD Cable box is set at a really low volume while your TV is set to a rather high volume. Try setting the TV volume to around one-third, then set the volume on the cable box until it's as loud as you'd ever want to hear it. With the TV at such a high volume, you're actually amplifying any stray electronic signals that the wires might be picking up, and the above solution will fix that.

Good Luck.
