Leapster screen My son's leapster L-max screen does not correlate with what we press... eg when typing his name you need to type on the letter underneath and sometimes( with new Ratatouille game ) underneath and to the left. This is so frustating as my son i 4 and tries to type in his name and complete games but cannot do so at times.. Please help

Leapster L-Max recalibrates differently. I was trying to use the instructions and it kept asking for a blue button. For the Leapster L-Max push B, A, Hint, and Home when you turn it on. Do not have a cartridge in the player or it will think it is a regular Leapster. Once it says calibrate screen it will say to press A, then wait until a target appears in the upper left hand corner, touch it and you should hear a sound, then a new target appears in the lower left hand, repeat actions, then lower right hand screen, and finally the upper right hand screen. If it stops at any time and doesn't get more arrows, try it again or turn it off and see if the pen works. It may take several times to get it working again.

How did you try recaibrating? I just fixed my son's Leapster 2 a few minutes ago. I read a couple different recalibration instructions and the one that works for the Leapster 2 is:
1-Hold down the (?) Hint button while turning on the system.
2-Keep holding it down until the Leapster menu shows up
3-Let it go and press the A button
4-Touch each crosshairs x with the pen tip
5-When it goes back to the menu screen, restart the unit

We have the same problem and our leapster is only 2 days old.Do Touch Screen Calibration,it should help.I do it everytime for my son when he wants to play and it does help...But once u turn leapster off,u'll have to calibrate it again next time...

hold down the "?" (question mark) when you turn the unit on. Then calibrate the screen. It fixes the issue.

Buy another one from the same store and just swap them.

Touch Screen Calibration is as:
1.) Ensure that a cartridge is NOT inserted.
2.) Hold down the Hint (’?') button while turning the unit on.
3.) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the ‘A’ button.
4.) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus.
5.) Restart the unit.

Question How do I delete or change a player name on Leapster™ cartridges? Answer It is possible to remove a player once you have added three player names to the cartridge. If there is a name on the cartridge that you want to remove, take these steps.

1- Add new players until there are three players on the cartridge.

2- Once you have three players on the cartridge, an "X" will appear below each player's name.

3- Touch the "X", then touch the name of the player you want to delete. Touch "Yes" to delete the name. Then add a new name, or touch OK twice to go back to the sign-in screen without adding a name. Two names will always remain on the cartridge.
