When my printer comes out of energy saving mode and the printer aligns the cartridges and gets ready to print, before doing so......this rapid clicking noise is made. This clicking noise is loud and very rapid. After it is done....my printer works just fine.
This problem started after I installed new ink cartridges....everything prints fine...so can't figure this out. Need help!
I have read a lot in the last hour about clicking noises with the lexmark printers, scanner, fax.
Thanks,
Terry
I could see no piece of loose rubber on the feeder wheels that guide the paper through for copying. The clicking is coming directly from that area. So for now....I just open the top of my printer where I scan pictures....and then copy from there.
Top feeder for the scanner (on my x6570) had a loose piece of rubber stuck between the feed wheels. The rubber is part of the guiding mechanism that guides the paper to the feed wheels. Remove rubber strip and reattach it where it belongs.
