I bought this camera almost a week ago and I haven't even been able to use it. I put the memory card in and tried to take a picture, it keeps saying "card protected" You really should think about putting a paper manuel and troubleshooting guide in with the camera, for those who do not have a computer.

Canon SD1300 memory card locked

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. But, if you've checked the slide switch, the internal switch in the card slot may be jammed by a grain of sand or gunk. Here are troubleshooting steps for this problem. Recommend the toothpick fix for your particular problem.

It keeps saying memory card is full. Bought a new memory card and put in and it still says the card is full.

Are you sure that isn't "internal" memory card is full message?

Sometimes, when "internal memory card is full" there is no more space in the camera's internal memory. Your camera has 16 MB of internal memory. The number of pictures you can store depends on the picture size setting you have selected on your camera. Keep in mind that the camera always uses internal memory, even if a card is installed (auto default).

If really, the problem is in the "SD memory card", I suggest make some backup all files and reformat the SD. Try formatting it in the camera, there should be a process in your owners manual for doing this; donw formatted SD in your computer, isn't good.

Hope helps.

The card may have become corrupted. Use a separate card reader and download any pictures from the card. Then, insert it into the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

Camera keeps saying internal memory is full, even after putting a

Your internal memory is separate from your memory card. Think of it as two folders, the internal memory cannot be removed, and the memory card is one you can take with you. You can put new memory cards in it all day, the internal memory will still have pictures in it. You may wish to consider copying all internal memory to the memory card. To do this, make sure your camera has a memory card in it. View pictures on your internal memory, then from the menu option select 'copy all images to external memory.' In doing this, all of your photos will be moved, you can then clean out your internal memory by deleting everything/formatting it. :)

Pictures stored on card, and unable to retreive them on camera

Have you tried accessing the pictures via a card reader connected to your PC. It is possible the card is damaged and you will not be able to recover your pics. But it is worth a try. If you do not have a card reader take the card to a camera shop and see if they can see and manipulate the pics to another card, then reformat the card and reinsert it to see if it then reads anmd writes.

Samsung s1050 says file error

Are you able to transfer the images to the computer? It looks like a memory stick problem.. If your camera has internal memory then pull out the memory stick and save images to internal memory.. If the pictures are alright then you have to replace the memory card.. Do not buy them on ebay. 60% of the times you get fake stuff over there..

Camera will not turn on

I think the heat did it. If you read the instruction book, it most likely has a page that says no excessive heat or cold. If you bought it a week ago, take it back to the dealer for warranty repair.
