Been refilling inkjet cartridges for years. Just refilled an HP 60 color cartridge. Printer sez no way. pops up the HP Solution center window. Tells me to buy a new one. Is this a new Program by HP? Report refillers to home office?

Ya, what you got to do is that >>
Step 1: Go to C:\Program Files\HP and Delete as much as files you can delete from this Folder

Step 2: Go to Start >> Printer and Faxes
then select your HP Printer and Right Click on it
Go to >> Proplerties >> Ports and
uncheck "Enable Bidirectional Support"

Step 3: Go to Start >> All Programs >> HP >> "Your Printer Name" >> then Below "Add a device option" delete all the things except Uninstall option.

Do all these and always Refill your cartridge before its out of ink .
Hope this will solve your problem

PS: You might wonder how the Printer will work without its setup file, Well, the actual drivers of HP printers are here: C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool . So if you delete things from HP the printer will still run with its basic functions and no Solution Center

Error code 0x610000f6.. would this be related to refiled cartridges

Hi paschal karl

The error code you are seeing may or may not have to do with the cartridges being refilled.

Here's the thing, yes, you can refill your cartridges or use re manufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems.
QualityLogic, one of the world's foremost quality assurance organizations, tested the performance of HP inkjet print cartridges vs. re manufactured (refilled) brands. The results: original HP inkjet print cartridges far surpassed ink refills in both print quality and reliability.
  • Nearly one out of every six refilled ink cartridges tested was dead on arrival or failed prematurely
  • 70% of refilled cartridges had some form of reliability problem
Count on HP original ink cartridges for consistent, worry-free printing. You may think you're saving money on re manufactured or refilled ink cartridges, but in the long run, the cost of wasted time, ink, and paper can more than make up the difference. -Source
Most people think, 'well of course that is what HP or an HP representative would say', but I have done some research and found that many others have too. Here is a perfect example of somebody who does not work for HP in any way and basically is a customer advocate (in my opinion) ;Should you refill your printer's ink cartridges? HP says no (of course) By Matthew Murray
I found the above article interesting and genuine.

To summarize, again, yes you can refill the cartridges. The printer is not programmed to reject them. Sometimes the cartridges will not work and of course because they are non HP, HP would not be able to do anything to help. HP cartridges have a 2 year manufacture warranty;Limited Warranty for HP Ink Cartridges and Customer-Replaceable Printheads for HP Inkjet Supplies, this may give you comfort knowing HP stand behind their product.

I hope this helps.

Black and color cartridges refilled. originals back in printer...printer says no color cartridge installed.. have cleaned contacts on cartridge and machine, NO difference. can we print just in black if...

You need to have both black and color cartridges installed with functioning electronics to use your printer. Sounds like your original color cartridge and the refilled color cartridge you purchased both have bad electronics. I recommend Cartridge World or Office Depot for cartridge refills because they electrically screen their cartridges before selling them. You need to buy either a new or refilled color cartridge for your printer to work.

My color cartridge was low and I refilled it. Now my printer is

The electronics on your cartridge are bad and you need to buy either an HP original or a new refill to fix the problem. I recommend Cartridge World for refills because they test for electrical problems before they refill cartridges. If you do not have one of these stores in your area, Office Depot refills are the next best thing.

Trying to reload color cartridge.

Many brand name printer cartridges have a code that tells the printer they are a new cartridge. Once the cartridge is empty it will never again tell the printer that is it new.

You can refill the cartridge but it will continue to tell the printer that it is empty.

You say you "had my ... cartridges refilled today" so I suggest you go back to the folks who refilled them and ask them for suggestions.

Otherwise, purchase off-brand cartridges that won't tell the printer they're empty and keep refilling them as needed.

Another approach: purchase a new printer that won't give you this problem. I refill my Lexmark cartridges without any problems.

Color cartridge wont print

The color cartridge is defective. Sometimes, when the printer detects a refilled cartridge, it "marks" the cartridge as defective hence the refilled cartridge will not work on any printer.

Color

I am assuming from your brief problem description that you are getting bad colors when you changed your color cartridge. Are you using a new and certified HP ink cartridge? Are you doing a refill of your old ink cartridge or have bought one of those "re-manufactured" cartridges? The head in the cartridge is very sensitive - when they are damaged or poorly handled - it could result in cross contamination of the color inks. Hence - the brownish color you see could be the result of that cross-contam. My impression is that the remanufactured or older or continously refilled cartridges may be more prone to getting damaged - maybe bec of inherent wear out. Hope this helps.
