Kitchen scale, Salter, model 2006: change batteries

Kitchen scale, Salter, electronic, model 2006: How to change batteries? How does one open the little box containing the batteries?

Model is flat, stainless scale, small rear compartment containing a white box where 2 lithium batteries are located. Problem: I cannot find a way to open the small white box for fear of breaking it. Instructions w/ scale offer no help.

The 1 part just slides off.

    There's an arrow on white box, just slide across and you can get to batteries.

    Battery appears to be hardwired to the unit.

2006 salter scale manual
This is a very basic 2 button scale.

Very easy to use. Left button is imperial or metric. Right button is on and off and tare. Batteries for in a compartment underneath.

How do i get battery compartment open on Salter kitchen scale model 2006
I went to the Salter website and I could not find that model number.

However, looking at the other models they had there should be a door on the bottom of the scale. It looks like a release tab that you push in then lift up on. Give that a try.

Is it possible you put the batteries in the wrong way? Sometimes a device will still have power in that situation, even though it won't work as expected. Try a new set of batteries, but clean the contacts in the battery compartment first, and double-check the battery orientation.

Can't open battery case
The middle part slides out. You'll need a small knife or a screwdriver to pry it out gently.

There are openings on two sides. One side has a larger opening than the other. Make sure you pry it out of the lager opening.

Once you gently slide it out, you'll see the two batteries. Make sure the positive side is facing up when you put them back in.
