The Pfaff 332 has a stop motion mechanism that is a small knob in the middle of the hand wheel. This disengages the needle and allows you to wind the bobbin without having to check on the material to be sewn. Hold the hand wheel so that it will not move. Turn the stop motion knob counter-clockwise (turn the knob all the way to the left). Put a second spool of thread (of appropriate weight and color) on the right hand pin. Lead the thread from the spool around the thread retainer clockwise. Pull the thread into the guide and then push the thread through the slot in the bobbin from inside the bobbin. Place the bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle so that the key at the base of the spindle enters the slot in the bobbin. Press the lever into the bobbin. Hold onto the thread end and slowly start to wind the bobbin. After a few winds of the thread, break off or cut the thread that is above the bobbin. Continue winding the bobbin (at any speed). When the bobbin is full the lever will automatically move back to its original position. (If you do not need a full bobbin, move the lever when the bobbin is sufficiently full.) Remove the bobbin from the bobbin winder spindle and cut it free of the spool thread. Return the stop motion mechanism to the right by turning it clockwise while holding the hand wheel.
1. Turn the power on the machine.
2. Open the bobbin winder cover at the top on the right side of the sewing machine.
3. Swing up the bobbin thread spool pin. Move the bobbin thread spool pin up as far as possible.
1-Bobbin thread spool pin
4. Place the bobbin on the bobbin winder shaft so that the spring on the shaft fits into the notch in the bobbin.
1-Notch
2-Bobbin winder shaft spring
5. Slide the bobbin winder shaft to the right.
NOTE: If the correct size bobbin is not used at this time; when the bobbin winder is engaged; the bobbin winder will make a usual noise and not wind the bobbin correctly.
6. Place the spool of thread for the bobbin onto the bobbin thread spool pin.
7. Slide the spool cap onto the bobbin thread spool pin. NOTE: If using thread that winds off quickly, such as nylon or metallic thread, place the spool net over the spool before placing the spool of thread onto the spool pin.
8. Pull out some thread, and then thread the thread guide for the bobbin winding. Hold the thread with both hands, and then securely pass the thread as far as possible into the two slits in the thread guide.
1-Thread guide for bobbin winding
2-Two slits
9. While using your left hand to hold the end of the thread that wraps around the thread guide for bobbin winding, use your right hand to wind the free end of the thread clockwise around the bobbin five or six times.
10. Pull the thread to the right and pass it through the slit in the bobbin winder seat.
Difficult to diagnose without knowing the make/model and the symptoms. Best advice is to consult the owner's manual.
Make sure the handwheel center cap is loosened before winding the bobbin. Also, snap the lever toward the bobbin to activate the bobbin winder. Confirm that the correct sequence is followed in threading from the spool to the bobbin winder.
If you are unable to get the bobbin winder to work, for ~$25 you can pick up a stand-alone bobbin winder from the local fabric store (JoAnns or Hancocks) or even online (Amazon.com).
place the bobbin the winder pull the thread from the spool around tinchoner wrap around bobbin push bobbin against stop turn leaver on wheel to release needle push down on peddle it will auto stop when bobbin is full.
Flip the presser switch up to raise the presser foot. Turn the hand wheel counterclockwise until the needle is in its highest position.
2Hold the hand wheel in place with your left hand while turning the hand wheel knob counterclockwise with your right hand to loosen the hand wheel knob.
3Place the desired spool of thread on the spool pin so that the pin fits all the way through the hole in the center of the spool. Put the spool holder onto the end of the spool pin that is sticking through the spool of thread and press firmly to ensure that the spool holder keeps the spool in place.
4Grasp the end of the thread and hold it taut between the thumb and index fingers of both hands. Snap the taut section of thread into the thread guide post located to the left of the spool pin.
5Pull the end of the thread gently. Wrap the thread around the bobbin winder tension disk near the left front on top of the machine, starting at the side of the tension disk facing you and wrapping around in a clockwise direction.
6Poke the end of the thread through the small hole in the bobbin from the inside out so that the loose end of the thread sticks through the top of the bobbin. Put the bobbin on the spindle, or bobbin winder, and gently slide the bobbin winder to the right.
7Hold the loose end of the thread in place while pressing down on the foot pedal to start the machine. Hold the foot pedal down until the bobbin is as full as desired. The machine will automatically stop once the bobbin has reached capacity.
8Cut the loose end of the thread using scissors. Slide the bobbin winder to the left and remove the bobbin. Hold the hand wheel in your left hand and tighten the hand wheel knob with your right hand by turning it clockwise
1 Release the stop-motion knob on the right side of the sewing machine by turning it oward you.2 Place a spool of thread of your choice on the spool pin located toward the back of the sewing machine.3 Pull thread from the spool through the threading knob on the top of the machine.4 Pull 2 to 3 inches of thread through one of the holes on the bobbin. Hand-wrap thread around the bobbin in an anti-clockwise direction five or six times.5 Place the wrapped bobbin on the bobbin spindle.6 Push the winder spindle to the right, against the stopper, and depress the foot pedal to begin winding.7 Wind bobbin until completed, then return winder spindle to its original position.8 Tighten the stop-motion knob.
Put the thread spool on the vertical spool holder with a sponge pad underneath. Wind the thread off the spool and through the small wire thread guide next to the spool holder. Take the thread across the top of the sewing arm to the tension unit just next to the gap in the case through which the thread is normally threaded - the tension unit looks like the top of a shiny screw without the slots in it. Wind the thread in a clockwise direction around the tension unit once and pull the thread with a bit of tension until it slips into the sprung gap around the underside of the shiny part. Slip the end of the thread through one of the holes in the bobbin and, preferably, wind a few turns on, then push the bobbin onto the bobbin winder shaft at the right-hand end of the top of the machine. Turn the bobbin clockwise by hand a few more times to make sure the thread is 'locked' onto the bobbin and then just push the lever adjacent to the bobbin winder to the left. To wind the bobbin, you then press the foot controller and either stop when you've got enough thread on the bobbin or let it stop automatically when full. Make sure you dont go so fast that the spool rattles-around on the spool holder otherwise this could spoil the way the bobbin gets filled.
Insert the empty bobbin case onto the bobbin winder in the sewing machine.
Step 2
Set
the spool of thread onto the thread peg. Use the same thread you want
to use on your material to obtain the best finished stitch.
Step 3
Follow the arrows or guides to take the thread from the spool to the empty bobbin.
Step 4
Start the thread around the bobbin in a clockwise direction.
Step 5
Push
the small lever against the bobbin spool to hold it in place. This
disengages the needle so it won't go up and down while winding the
bobbin.
Step 6
Press the foot or knee pedal to start the winding process. Stop when you have enough thread on the bobbin for your project.
Step 7 Cut the thread between the thread spool and the bobbin. Insert the bobbin into the bobbin case so you can begin sewing.
hi!there similar bobbins winder in any brand of sewing machine uses mostly in domestic particularly in industrial manufacturing in this fig.check it out if similar to your bobbins any how itmay be helpfull onethe bobbins winder that was a thread and shoul be clockwise rotation when coming out to bobbins case,if you to wound the thread on your bobbins winder, pull threads on spool then wind this in several times 4 to 6 rotation clockwise loop thread on top machine there is bobbins winder disc for tension put winder bobbins on shaft winder near hand wheel push the latch against bobbins winder to fit thead run machine to wind the thread. After hread wound in bobbins winder cut thread and insert winder to bobbin case as shown. insert bobbins to shuttle hook case under needle foot holder
