I have a NORSTAR M7310 and have multiple phone lines coming into our office. These phone are only capable of being programmed with a few lines. All I want to know how to do is swap one line for another on a phone.
I have this. This does not tell me how to reprogram the 3 digit line code for the "Line 2" softkey.I have this. This does not tell me how to reprogram the 3 digit line code for the "Line 2" softkey.
I already have all that. I have a "Line 2" button that needs to remove the line assigned to it and assign a new line to it.I already have all that. I have a "Line 2" button that needs to remove the line assigned to it and assign a new line to it.

Normally tech side programming If you do not know how to program, navigate or the password call a tech. otherwise go to Sets/Ext#/Line Access/Line Assignment, enter line # in question, press Change until you see the option you want ie.e appear only or not assigned.
It could be a simple as the phone has call forwarding to another extension set up on it or the direct line could also be programmed on the other set. Does the screen on the non- ringing m7208 display "forward to:xxx" or does it display the current day and time?
You have to know how to get into programming, and it depends on the type of telephone lines you have... if you have regular analog lines, on a out bound call transfer there is going to be line degragation. Meaning that the outgoing call is not going to be of the best quality.
Secondly, you have to see how many telephone lines you have, if you have 3 analog trunks, with a call forwarding to a cell phone, you will be using up 2 lines... 1 incoming and 1 outgoing to your cell. This leaves 1 trunk for incoming or outgoing callers.
You will have to go into system programming, under sets, line appearances. You will need to set the lines on the phones to appear and ring, not just appear.
When you say you are the one responsible for the programming, are you referring to programming the "physical phone" or the PBX and line cards and system functionality?
You should have an extension on your phone. Has that extension for example 222 been translated at the PBX to ring on a direct number -> (xxx) 555-1222
Or by what you are describing, you are more looking at having "shared lines" that ring in multiple locations simultaneously, and once picked up somewhere a "line lock" should be in place?
I need more information. When calls come in, does the triangles appear on the phones you want to pick up? Do you have all the lines on the phones? Is sounds like you want only the "ringing sound" to happen on your phone, but have it appear on the others. Is this correct??

I already have all that. I have a "Line 2" button that needs to remove the line assigned to it and assign a new line to it.
