Signals to the tv from other sources and the image is P and G
We have our Direct TV hooked up to the large RCA projection tv by the red, green and blue cables. Other connections to the tv from dvd player etc., the picture is terrible and shows pink and green lines but with Direct TV the image is fine and i don't know what's going on? I tried all kinds of hook ups like s- video and other inputs on the tv and it is terrible. I even took the R,G,B cables and disconnect them from Direct TV box and connect them into the dvd player and the picture is terrible and plug the cables back into the back of the Direct TV box the picture is fine.

Soon as though you have your wiring mixed up. Those leads, colors you describe are for Compnent Video signal....Red Green Blue. Now the Others are for Audio Visual signal , Yellow, Red, White... They are NOT compatable. IE: You cannot mix them. Check in your manual as to what types of lead is needed how to wire it up..

I'm not sure what you mean by the "lines". If you mean the image looks like "double" (or triple!) vision, then you need to adjust the red/green/blue convergence. This is especially noticeable with white images on dark background (like text of credits). If this is it, check you manual or explore your menu via the remote. Sometimes convergence can be a problem if the tv was moved or experienced large changes in temperature... or sometimes all by itself!
The tuner in RCA is a known issue. I recommend connecting the satellite with RGB (Red-Green-Blue) component cables and red/white sound cables and use video. The picture will be better. The tuner repair can be pricey $$$
Hi the green cross it cant move that the reference for red and blue adjustement ;just try to put the red and blue cross over the green pattern then quit/
if that doesnt work you probly have the stk-xxx ic
who control the color alignment ,are blow/
you will have to replaced and make the convergence
check if you have an auto adjustement for that most projection tv have one...
hope that help..
These are the RGB inputs which connect in to give direct Red, Green, Blue inputs from one source to another, they will give a better quality of picture.
Try this with TV off Press and Hold at same time ch- and vol - until TV comes on It should either let you into service mode or start convergence Automatically
If you have Direct TV HD the best way is to use a HDMI to DVI cable. If you only have the component (red/green/blue)connectors on the Direct TV Box that would be the best way. You will not have audio using the DVI cable, so you will have to run Red/White cable to the Audio Input.
