No internet volume

The volume on my computer works, except not on the internet. for example, iTunes has sound but YouTube doesn't. I run Windows XP and use firefox. I recently started using a LogiTech webcam, but I'm not sure that has anything to do with the problem. Please Help??

If you have not updated to the newest version of FF, try doing that first. It sounds like you are having issues with browser plugins. You may have to un-install and re-install certain plugins if you already have the most updated version of FF.

Depending on what you have or do not have installed will depend on a proper course of action to fix the issue. Click on this link to see more detailed information on your particular problem.
I hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Windows XP is outdated. Both internet explorer and Firefox browsers have stopped support for Windows XP. Latest Firefox version is 57.0.2 and it is not possible to install on Windows XP. Internet explorer also cannot be updated on Windows XP. Please check your motherboard's manufacturer's site to see what latest operating system, it will support. I guess old systems wont support Windows 10 but support only till Windows 7 or Windows 8. Please consider updating to latest operating system if you want to use for browsing.

Distorted sound playing music from Youtube or BBC Iplayer

First off, most Youtube videos have bad sound but most likely is you need to lower the volume for FLASH via the sound mixer. Both are using flash. Turn down the volume for flash videos. You also have volume control with the video themselves.

It apears that you have a driver missing. I suspect there is none as XP does not support newer machines. Have a look just in case by logging on to the manufacturer's web site, usually one is able to download if available, by model number, All available Driver downloads as required.

If the driver is not available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are installing.

This is the best way of ensuring up to date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!

I hope this helps.

No souds

is the mute button above the keyboard pressed? Are you running windows 7? Does the soundcard show up in your device manager? Also, on windows 7, the volume mixer provides separate channels for applications, rather than devices as in xp. Click the volume icon, open mixer, and check to see if the internet and other applications are muted. I use a DV6000 and this caused me trouble since this computer had a bad GPU that I fixed, which causes the ssound to stop working when it goes bad. The computer ended up being fine, I had simply forgot about the mixer.
If that doesn't work, try re-installing the sound drivers. If that doesn't work, you might have a faulty BGA (nvidia) chip, which will have to be reflown.

When this happen it is often a problem with the compression codes used by youtube streaming. Often they are not being managed if the browser is not up to date.

Check that the video card is installed properly and can play movies, for example test a DVD.
