I have front loader MFW9700 Maytag washer. Water leaks from under bottom of washer. Checked hoses for leaks. No leaks. Suggestions as to cause? Thanks.
Re: I have front loader MFW9700 Maytag washer. Water
Check the door seal for tears and the drain boot from tub to drain boot for anything that might have put a hole in like a piece of metal from an under wire bra which front loads will spin so fast that the wires come out of the bras.

I found MayTag has a full report on this washer. https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/8169153c018494398525729c0057a4d2/$FILE/Samsung_Frontier_Washer.pdf
The part number is DC97-10417A and can be ordered at samsungparts.com
I have an Atlantis myself. There can be several problems. Did you check that the fill hoses in the back are not leaking? Are they tight? There are hoses inside the washer and a pump near the front. I replaced my pump last year and I,m getting ready to replace the thrust bearing assembly (spin issues). Does the washer leak with every load? make sure water is not splashing over the tub when filling. The front panel comes off if you can and leave off and watch to see where water is coming from.
this is either the front seal that goes from the outer tub to the front of the washer or a hole in the outer tub itself or one of the hoses underneath the seal and the hoses are easiest to check you can take a cup of water and slowly pour it into the front seal. take care not to overfill it to where it spills into the tub and see if you are getting water on your floor from that. the hoses tip the washer up onto its back and look at them from the bottom for any cracking etc. the tub itself can only rust out on some of the neptune models or on others is plastic and can get punctured. just have to look for damage with a light and a mirror.
Depending on where exactly the leak is coming from, it could be a drain hose, drain pump, or tub seal. If this is a top-loader, here's how you can tell:
1. If the leak is coming from the BACK area under the washer, this can be caused by a leaking fill hose, dispenser hose, drain hose, or fill valve.
2. If the leak is coming from UNDER the center area of the washer, this could be your tub seal, a crack in the tub, or an air dome hose leak. NOTE: If the air dome hose is leaking, the washer will fill continuously and not turn off.
3. If the leak appears to be coming from the FRONT under the washer, this could be your drain pump, or drain hoses.
Posting a model number, could assist with determining how your washer is configured. I suspect you may have a drain pump leaking as this is the most common cause, but I want to be sure.
this is joyce
Have you checked to see if the pump may have a small leak, if not then you may just have a hose that is leaking, other than that theirs not to much more to go wrong. maytag is a good brand I have one but I would not put up with a leak of any kind, it will ruin your floor.
if you cant find the leak I can help find you a techn in your area that may can come to check it out for you if you need me to. just let me know.
joyce
Check the easy stuff first, fill hoses tight?- drain hose cracked? Failing those checks, cut a piece of cardboard slightly smaller than the size of your washer. Slip the cardboard under the washer and run a short load. Look carefully at the water mark on the cardboard. The mark on the cardboard the water leak will leave, will help you tell from which side or front to back the leak is common from. This will help point you in the correct direction to look for the trouble maker.
Here is the solution I found that worked for me, there is a small drain hole at the bottom of the boot that is connected to a drain hose. Remove the hose and clean out to make sure that it has not become plagged. replace hose and reattach boot. Mine stoped leaking imediately.
pull the frount panael at the bottom and look there early model neptunes would leak around the door seal they made a kit to fix them but i dont know how old yours is so i cant tell you if thats it check the obvious hoses etc your drain pipe could be cloged the one your drain hose goes down in and just barley running over when the washer drains tell your husband to fill it then then switch to drain and listen to the pipe will sound like a bottle filling up when it drains or he will see it running over while it fills look under the bottom panel for leaks hope that helps
