My 2003 VW turbo beetle makes a loud noise coming from the passenger side in the mornings when i turn on the car. The noise does not reoccur throught out the day, only when started again the next morning. the car runs fine, the noise is the only concern that i have. is this normal?
I think you could
use this manual method instead.. My nephew who is a full time mechanic uses most of the times, and all mechanics look up to manuals. It's very easy he gets it from. www.reliable-store.com

Could be a faulty fuel pump, they are notorious for acting unpredictibly when they start to go bad. My bet is in a week it won't start at all. Try banging on the fuel tank the next time it won't start, if that fixes it it is prbably a fuel pump.
Running you fuel pump until its at E is hard/bad on your fuel pump since gasoline is the fuel pumps lubrication.

Ok we figured something out. The turbo model has a rear retractable spoiler that flips up when you go above 45 mph and down when you go below 10. The later models just have a fixed spoiler. Still looking into if it should make that loud 'ratchety' sound.

You need to charge your battery up more. Either get a battery charger or leave the jumper cables hooked up for a longer period of time.
Your battery was probably completely dead. You might even need a new battery...they really don't like to be completely drained.
