We have a kenmiore top loading washing machine model 27492600 and the cold water only dribbles into the machine but the hot water pours in. how do I access the machine to se if there is something in the line.

Check your fill valve if it is plugged up or sizzed up

The load might be unbalanced, and will not spin at full speed as it could damage the machine. Try reloading the machine

My Hoover 7700l ...on "fill" cycle, the water dribbles in. Takes hours to fill so we use buckets to reach the required level.

Tried: Swapping cold and hot water inlet hoses, making sure that dial is in "hot". This solved the problem for filling, BUT when "rinse cycle appoars, it's back to the dribble again.

any ideas?

Are the hot and cold hoses reversed?

Try disconnecting the hoses from the rear of the machine and see if the screen filters are clogged up and also make sure that their is plenty of preasure and volume of water when you turn on the hoses unhooked directed into ther drain. This is likely your problem as it is unlikely both the hot and cold fill valves went or bad out at the same time. 

I had this problem. I alternated the hot and cold water valves (changing over the wiring) and then hot tap then dribbled instead of the cold. Replacement part i believe is around $35AU

IS THIS HAPPENING ON COLD AND HOT WATER RINSE ??? THERE IS AN ELECTRIC SOLENOID VALVE FOR HOT AND COLD WATER SUPPLY. THESE SOLENOIDS HAVE STRAINERS AND ORFICES THAT CAN CLOG UP WITH SEDIMENT IN THE WATER SUPPLY ... MOST ALL OF THEM ARE CLEANABLE. THIS IS NOT AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR ... BEWARE!!!
