Wrong language displayed on canon mp600. Need to switch from Chinese to English.

Always difficult to find your way through a menu when the language is symbols so nothing is remotely recognisable. Other than finding a Chinese speaker the only way maybe to just play with the menu until it comes up with the language menu as these will be written in their native way (Svensk, Dansk, Italiano, English etc.) Maybe you can google for a translation of what LANGUAGE looks like in Chinese.

When you plugged in the printer and hit the power button the very first thing to come up on the display is language selection. If that didn't happen then you need to call 1-800-OK-CANON and ask them how to set your printer back to factory defaults.

Uninstall your software at once.. and re-install again. When you install watch carefully and select you language as English..... thanks

To change the language of the LCD on the printer, Press "Home" wait for 5 seconds then select the icon that looks like a pair of pliers and a screwdriver. Next, press the right arrow to select the icon that looks like a bar with three sliders on it. Press down four times, then press OK. This will bring up the menu to select the correct language. In Japanese, the word "English" looks like this ?? or ???.

Added a pic with part of manual, follow the instructions, and language will become english again!

you can if the language has been programmed into the phone. i presume of course you are aware that is likely a chinese clone of the original (tho i could be wrong). clones are abit hardy to do techy support. we have found a video that may help you navigate to the language section to change it to english.

Check the Canon website ... maybe even send them a request for e-mail support to resolve this.

The above site, canon's driver download page, should allow you to download the printer driver installer, in english.

Action
The language you want to be displayed is not selected.
Select the language you want to be displayed according to the following procedure.
(1) Press the HOME button. Wait for about 5 seconds, select , and then press the OK button.
(2) Press the button to select the pliers and screwdriver icon , slide the window to highlight the LEFT selection, looks like 2 horizontal lines w/ arrows at either end, NOT the 4 color ink drop display, then press the OK button.
(3) Press the down button four times, then press the OK button.
(If the Bluetooth unit is connected to the machine, press the button five times, and then press the OK button.)
(4) Press the down button to select the language you want to be displayed( english), then press the OK button.
Voila! done! hope it helps.
