ALARM TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
(This guide may provide help on temporarily disabling a alarm until a repair can be made)
If your alarm goes off constantly or does not armed by itself:

Does the alarm arm and disarm properly? If it does proceed, if it doesn't, then have it checked by your installer.

1. Check and make sure your dome light is not staying on. If it is make sure all doors are closed and/or the dome
light switch is not turned on.
2. Check your sensor. Make sure they are not too sensitive. They can cause false alarm and also cause the system
not to arm by itself.
3. The alarm current sensing might be detecting voltage drop from the battery of the car or current draw from an
equipment (maybe left on).
If your car won't start check the following:

1. Does the alarm arm and disarm properly. If it does chances are is not the alarm.
2. When you try to start the car the alarm goes off.. It could be your battery.
3. Try to start no sound, nothing lights up, alarm doesn't work. It could be a loose battery terminal or dead battery.
4. Everything lights up, alarm works fine, but car still won't start. I could be a bad starter, starter disable in the alarm
or check and make sure the car is in "PARK" or press the clutch all the way down to the floor.
To activate the Valet Mode do the following:

There is a push button or toggle switch to disable the alarm (to engage the valet mode). Without knowing where this
switch is you won't be able to disconnect the alarm.

1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position.
2. Flip the toggle or hold the push button for at least 5 seconds.
3. The LED. light will stay solid on.
4. Turn the ignition off
5. Release the push button. If you have a toggle leave it alone in step 2
To de-activate the Valet Mode do the following:

There is a push button or toggle switch to enable the alarm (to disengage the valet mode). Without knowing where this switch is you won't be able to reconnect the alarm.

1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position.
2. Flip the toggle or hold the push button for at least 1 seconds no more than 2 seconds on most DEI products,
keep it pressed in.
3. Turn the ignition off.
4. The LED. light will be off.
5. Release the push button. If you have a toggle leave it alone as described in step 2.

I just bought a 2003 road king classic and can not set the alarm. Can you tell the procedure?

Arming: Hold Fob button down until signals flash twice. The 'key' lamp on
the speedo will Blink to indicate the system is armed. If auto arming is
enabled, the key lamp will Stay continuously lit for 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off, then the system Will arm itself.

Disarming: 'Double-click' the Fob, the signals will flash once and the key lamp will stop flashing. If the Fob is lost or not working, the system can be disabled by entering the passcode. Without setting off the alarm, get the ignition switch to accessory, hold down both left and Right signal switches until the key lamp flashes rapidly, enter the first digit on the left And use the right as an 'enter' key, enter all five digits of the passcode and the system will Disarm, if you screw up, the alarm will activate and you will have to wait ten minutes.

Transport Mode: Allows the system to be armed with the motion sensors disabled for service, Trailering, etc. Turn the ignition switch on, arm with the Fob, turn the ignition off and Arm once again with the Fob. Signals will flash 3 times to confirm
arming, All other functions of the alarm system require entering the configuration mode. This is done by Disarming the system, run/stop switch in stop, flip the ignition switch on/off/on/off/on Then push the left signal button
twice. If power was disturbed to the alarm module, The sequence may have to be repeated to get into configuration mode. The system will respond by flashing out the module type code.
(1-TSM, 2-TSSM dom, 3-TSSM hdi)
Now that you are in the config mode, you can do the following.....

- To assign the Fobs, push the right once (one flash) then the left once (two flashes)
Then hold down the Fob button until the system recognizes it. Hold down the second
Fob until the system recognizes it. Both Fobs must be assigned at the same time.

- To assign a passcode, use the fob to send a disarm command, signal will flash once
To indicate the first digit, push the left signal button and the key light will flash out the Value of the first digit. Pushing the left button will advance the value up through 9 and Will start over at 1. When done setting the first digit, double click the fob again and The signals will flash twice to indicate the second digit, continue on through all five digits. Turn ignition off to exit.

- To adjust the sensitivity, use the fob to send an arm command (one flash) then push the Left signal button once. The signals will flash out the current setting, 1-4, push the left Button to advance the setting, turn ignition off to exit.

- To extract system trouble codes, press the right signal button three times,
pausing between Each press for the system to flash once, twice, and three times
respectively. Press the left signal button once and they signals will flash out two digit
codes. Press and hold the left button to clear all codes from memory, otherwise
turn ign off to exit.

- To enable auto arming, use the fob to arm the system twice, and press the
left button once. The system will flash the setting code, 1-disabled, 2-enabled. Press the left button to change The setting, turn ignition off to exit.

- To adjust between Sidecar mode and normal mode, push the right button
twice quickly, Then the left button once and the signal will flash out the current setting, 1-normal, 2-sidecar. Press the left button to change the setting, then turn the
ignition off to exit.

- To adjust the length of time delay before going into storage mode, use the fob to send an Arm command three times, then push the left button, the signal will flash out the current setting. 1-30 days, 2-60 days, 3-90 days, 4-disabled. Use the left
button to advance the setting and turn the ignition off to exit.

How to turn kill switch off and see manual and instructions

I am assuming that you want to disable the system temporarily by putting it in valet mode. You will need to locate the valet button; they are usually installed under the dash within reach of the driver. The button should be black and about 1/2" in diameter.
Pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds while the alarm is disarmed will put the system into valet mode. The system will turn the LED light on steady and chirp the siren to indicate that valet mode has been activated. To exit valet mode, press and release the button. The LED will turn off and the siren will chirp to indicate that you have exited valet mode.

The included link is for the manual, see page 8.

Alarm is mal- functioning need to by pass alarm made by karr i think orinal equipment car starts sporatacly but have to play with remote to get it t o start help

It is simple just trace the wires - you will notice that installer will have teed in the wires – just cut off the T to the alarm - where you spot wires have been cut and attached with the alarm wires, just remove the alarm wires and rejoin the original wires and you won't face the alarm problem again.

A lot of owners coimment about Karr alarms and are so bad! Do yourself a favor and replace it (they comment like a personal opinnion).

I just got an accord and it came with a paper manual for the 2040. I had to reprogram the remotes though. Here is how Kar said to do it, you will have to fool around with it to figure out which buttons go to which channel, and I only had to press the button 3 times not on off to get it into the mode. So when it beeps once it meets its in channel 1, twice, channel 2:
* First, locate your valet switch. The valet switch is either going to be a small black push button, or a small silver toggle switch. The valet switch is either mounted on the plastic panel on the left side of the vehicle, near your left ankle as your sitting normally in the driver’s seat or directly behind the LED light.
·Turn your ignition key to the “on” position, or start the vehicle.
·Within 10 seconds
+ you have a silver toggle switch:
·Flip the switch “on” and “off” three times. (on-off-on-off-on-off) qIf you have a valet push button:
·Push the push button three times.

* The alarm system will chirp one time, letting you know that the alarm is in programming mode.
·Hold down the arm/disarm (center) button on the transmitter, until the alarm chirps again, confirming that the transmitter has been learned.
·Turn your ignition key off.

* The alarm will give one last chirp, letting you know the alarm has exited programming mode.

* The new transmitter is now programmed to the vehicle, and will arm and disarm the alarm system.

If you have problems programming the transmitter, please feel free to call at (949) 707-4210, or toll free at (800) 395-5277.

Only one of my my k-9 mundial keyless work the other seems fine but wont activate.

Try to reprogram the remotes to the alarm. Have your vehicle key and both remotes ready. The way to do this is as follows:

1. Turn ignition key to run position.
2. Within ten seconds push the valet button 5 times.
3. The siren will give a chirp, indicating that you are in programming mode.
4. Press the large button on the first remote. A chirp will be given as confirmation.
5. Press the large button on the second remote. A chirp will be given as confirmation.
6. Turn off ignition and remove key. Alarm will give long chirp indicating exiting program.
7. Try remotes. Both should be working.

For the next 48 hours, every time the vehicle is starting the siren will chirp indicating that remotes have been programmed. After 48 hours this feature will turn itself off. Also keep an eye on the alarm light as it will also blink the number of times as remotes are programmed every time the ignition is turn on.

Hope this information helps. Please rate. Thank you.

1995 Nissan Maxima alarm system

Hey, I bought my 1995 Nissan Maxima GLE brand new back in July 1994 with factory installed alarm, it just doen't make any sound when you arm or disarm it with remote. The only way you can tell whether it is armed or disarmed is from the lever position of your doors and the blinking red light under the dash. Only the newer versions of Nissan/Infiniti's has the "Audio/Silent" mode button on the remote which allows you to activate/deactivate you car alarm with an audiable sound or no sound at all. No worry, there is nothing wrong with your remote or car alarm.
