I have a hotpoint washer wf740 aquarius 1400 and recently it started making a terribly loud noise during fast spinning - when I looked around the back of the machine, I saw that the back of the drum had been banging against the back causing the noise and producing brick dust - would new springs fix this problem or is it something else? please help!
It could be a broken drum restraint spring, or a worn or broken. or loose shock absorber.
To check the springs, remove the top cover, and you will see the springs.
Another possibility is the concrete weight could be broken or loose.
You need to remove the lower rear panel of washer to check the shockers and concrete weight.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.
Testimonial: "Thanks for your help. In the end it was the front balance weight that had been gradually coming looser and looser and needed fixing pack into place."

My Hotpoint Aquarius WMF 760 washing machine appears to be working alright. However, it constantly emits a series of three beeps throughout the cycle.
IDoes something need looking at ?
The rear drum bearing often fails and can cause these symptoms. Disassembly and new bearings and/or outer drum required in that case
