Where can I get a Haier switching power supply for one of their wine coolers. The part is S126SMD2. Its a 12Volt, 5 Amp. Hair wine cooler model number HVW18ABB.

Power surges, spike and brown-outs are a nemesis to small refrigeration units. The capacitor for the compressor likey was affected and possibly the start components in general, especially if the unit was operating when the surge occured.

You may find that the thermostat is not working. Try to turn the thermostat to the warmest setting, the compressor should switch off within two hours, if not change the thermostat.
Yes, those motors shoudl be pretty standard stock items at any local appliance parts supply house found in the yellow pages.
You might also try lookinmg under "motors and controls" in the yellow pages. If you get it locally like that then you can physically compatre the old one with the new one to make sure it is indeed the same part.
