MP4 digital player

My Mp4 player will not start. When I turn it on an hour glass just pops up. I loaded music on to it no problem and it worked fine. Turned it off one day and the next day nothing but an hour glass...computer won't even receognize the player...Gereric MP4 player bought off ebay and made in China...Any ideas how I can reset the player??

Okay so my dad bought me the digital mp4 player and it was working fine and all but that same day I tried turning it back on and it won't if tryd about everything on here and when I connect it to the pc it won't recognizze it aswell. And it has no restart button so someone please help me turn in back on.

Hi, damn ebay and cheap imports we should know better, but we don't so here we are trying to work out what we can do. I too had the hour glass, (fried my brain trying to get rid of it) well be hold i tried one of the suggestions to plug usb into computer hold turn mp4 player on and hold centre button,i was about to press fast forward button but didnt need to as ta da hour glass gone.
Why couldnt the manual just tell me that? oh thats right the manual is a translation of the asian manual so you can imagine how its worded! ....you press must to button......i probably would have understood it better had they have kept it in asian!

TRY RESTTING FIRMWARE.

Hello...format the stupid thing using fat32..and it works ..a bit i think ..shitty import ****.

I have one of these mp4 players and I have music on it and it plays fine. I updated the firmware once by the firmware buttom on settings and it still works, but when I usb it to the computer it will not detect and the player show the player to computer screen with zzzzzz.... It will never content to the computer to put anything else on it. It is the same music all the time, I want to update things, but they won't connect with each other. What to do???

I have the same problem..and i have a sugestion...find any mp4 programs for example u can find them on http://www.s1mp3.de or http://www.s1fw.com/ .....u can find nice stuffs there and maybe can solve the problem....i'm stil working on my problem....if someone find the answere faster than me should post a message....thil then GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!!

Oh my god, same thing here. I purchased this off ebay and stupidly gave feedback after about 3 days...worked great...went running yesterday with it and it was fine... kept it charged all night and wanted to go for another run...no dice. All I get is an hourglass that won't go away and no my computer won't even recognize this "USB new hardware" attached. This sucks. I sent a message to the seller. OF COURSE, he won't reply. I tried holding down the play button and doing the above instructions...didn't work. This is the PITS. So much for buying a piece of SH*T mp3 player on ebay to save some money. I"m quite annoyed.

I have read that some have had luck with restoring the MP4 player from the dreaded hour glass by : plug the unit in to the USB power and whilst holding down the middle PLAY button switch the unit on and hold the button down for 15 seconds, then quickly press the FAST FORWARD button to get the unit working again. I have a unit from Ebay Hong Kong and so far this has not worked or gotton rid of the hour glass. If others want to try a variation (s) of this someone might just crack the system and make millions of us happy.
