SOURCE: Audio driver for Windows Xp

Follow the link by melnavz. There is only one audio driver listed, by SigmaTel Stac AC97. R90698.exe

This worked for me, Dell C600 audio driver for Xp.
Need to reboot after install.

I am not sure, but when I first clicked the link, I swear that Xp was not listed as an OS option. But is now when I went back to review the link. I downloaded the only audio driver that was listed, SigmaTel. During the install, it lists all of the supported operating systems including Xp, and many more.

Good deal, Thanks, Fixed !

SOURCE: how can I install Winxp on HP pavilion DV5 laptop ?

You're Hard Drive may be dead. If XP is starting to install and then it goes to the Blue Screen of Death, that's most likely your problem. There's a slight chance that you're power inverter has a fluctuating power level that is causing a disruption, but that's very unlikely. Have you done any tests with any boot CD's to check the hard drive's function?
