by the look of the picture it should not have that problem
something jammed or fallen on both openings
that stop doors from opening
call a fridge repairer first
those doors cost a lot to replace
maybe the fridge guy can you undo the top hinge of the french doors
if the freezer draw handle is broken you might need his help with that anyway
Hi Pat, that's a tough situation. Are you able to get the door open at all to slip something long through like a piece of wood to maneuver stuff around in the freezer?
If you can't, maybe turn down your freezer to start a defrost, or do a complete defrost.
sound like you have a bad gasket or the door for the ice maker is stuck open.. use a flashlight and in the dark withe the door open shine the light up the door and see.. jay fl
There is a defrost problem. Ice builds up between the ref and frz sections and wont allow coolo air through. You can also check to see if the damper is stuck closed
After several hours working and moving the door, I was able to slide open the door. Found out that the ice maker was leaking and the water was in the bottom an it frozen and that was stopping the door to open.
trying to open door?? does it feel as if top wants to open ad bottom of door is being stuck shut? or mabye a package of frozen food has shifted of a shelf and is holding the door shut, if so brute force will solve that one.if it feels like held at bottom sounds as if youmight have a clogged defrost drain tube.drain water backing up onto freezer plor and holding door shut. even then forcing door open is only way then removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere,pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over.
sounds as though the defrost system has failed or the freezer defrost drain is blocked.
take off the back panel of the freezer and see if excess ice build up. if so, defrost carefully with a hairdryer.
at bottom is a drain. check if blocked with ice and if so melt off with hot water till water flows away freely.
if i'm right, appliance will start to work. if fault re-occure then defrost system is at fault
