Cover the IR receaver on the tv, maybe something or someone is playing with it from outside or inside the house.

If that is not the case then there is most likely a hardware problem and you should take it to a professional.

Not much we can do to solve the problem if that is the case.

Hi, What is the model of your Television?

  • Anonymous Feb 18, 2008

Here's some aspects that may result your TV not to Stop scanning the channels:

    1. Check the antenna connection.

    2. No IDs have been programmed.

    3. The IDs you have stored are not active.

    4. Check to see if many of the channels are Locked Out.

If so, the scanner has less chance of finding an active channel.

    5. Review each channels frequency to see if it is still stored in Memory

    and is correct.

    6. Its possible that none of the programmed frequencies are currently

    active.

Possible reasons why your TV set is auto channel rolling.

Try the menu key on your remote are you able to access the menu? Your tv may be in channel programing mode.

TV has a firmware issue. Firmware is the software that controls your TV.

Is there any buttons stuck? Take out the remote batteries and just try the TV.

Is the tv rolling over and over. Just let it go for 10 mins before you unplug it and see what happens.

usually there are 2 scenarios for this issue keys on TV might be stuck internally other possibility humidity might cause redundant contact on the CH+ or CH- contact

118575 remote stopped working batteries are new lights light up but wont control tv or satellite anymore even though it just worked

The receiver more than likely received a software update or reset itself and reset the codes to the receiver and tv. We will need to set the remote address again and run a power scan to control the tv. Using the front panel buttons on the receiver press the menu button twice. This will put you at the system info screen. You will see the remote addresses for tv 1 and 2. They will probably both be set to 1 if the receiver reset. Press and hold the SAT button on the TV1 remote until all lights across the top light up and release. Now key in a two digit number between 1 and 16 (for 1-9 precede that numeric with a zero) now press the pound key at the bottom right of the remote numeric keypad. The SAT button will flash three times and press the record button until the remote address on the screen displays the one you entered. The receiver should now be able to be controlled by the remote. Now we need to do a power scan - press and hold the upper left TV button until all buttons across the top light up and release. Press the red TV button and release, The TV button should be lit constantly. Now press the channel up button slowly until the TV turns off. Once it does press the channel down once and then cannel up to see if the TV turns back on. If it does press the pound sign. Now press the record button and you are back in business. If you have further issues let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Universal remote px-rc1

Hi! This worked for me! I'm Leyz/leheart from the Philippines. I'm typing in CDRKing or CD-R King or CDR King Universal Remote Control PX-RC1 so that these keywords will show up if someone's looking for it too.
Mcneileric is right!
Real TV should be on! On the remote, press and hold the SET and DEVICE TYPE (in my case TV) at the same time. (Note: SET button is not any other button but the one with the word SET on it. You might have been searching on youtube and found that they are pressing other SET buttons but do press the SET button with the SET word). Then press SET again. Press the POWER button then + CHANNEL button then POWER button then +CHANNEL button then POWER button then +CHANNEL. (This process is so the remote could look for the code while you are pressing the +CHANNEL and the POWER is to see if the tv will turn off/respond to the remote). Do this repeatedly until the time that when you press the POWER button, the real TV turns off which means the real TV now responds. You will be shocked so DON'T press the +CHANNEL button anymore as this will instruct the device to look for another code. Instead, press the DEVICE TYPE button (TV for my case) to finish the set up.
NOW YOU CAN USE the REMOTE! Press the POWER button and this will turn on the TV!
Again...
TV onPress and hold SET button (yes, the button with the word SET) and DEVICE type button (TV/VCR,etc) at the same time for about 3 secondsPress SET againPress Power to check if the TV turns off^^If nothing happens, press +CHANNEL to search for codePress Power again to check if TV turns off^^If nothing happens, repeat the step between ^^ and ^^If the TV now turns off after pressing the POWER button, press the DEVICE type button to finish the setup.
Mcneileric, THANK YOU!!!!

How to set codes on my px-rc1 remote

Hey finally I found myself how to set the code... I have a PX-RC1 kind a noname remote at XScargo anyway...
Press SET BUTTON and at the same time, the appliance you want to set( TV, VCR,Aux...etc). The LED shoould stay on.. then press on the SET BUTTON again ... the led will blink fast... then press ( in front of TV, of else).. the POWER BUTTON to see what happens, if nothing happens, then press the +CHANNEL BUTTON once, and press power again. Repeat this until it turn off. THen press the appliance button (VCR,TV,AUX, etc...), this will stop the LED to blink and your appliance will be set.. I guess if it doesn't work good, go further onto the code with the +CHANNEL BUTTON (better count it in case you go too far, for myself I went too far and tried to use the -BUTTON and didn't work)
GOOD LUCK GUYS,

Remote control not responding

Perhaps you can try what I do when my KV24FV300 runs through channels and will not stop.  Hard to watch and remote will not work.  Nothing works but on and off from set.

Sony Says:  Take all batteries out of ALL remotes that you use in any way for that set, VCR, etc.  ALL batteries out.  Turn TV off at set.  Unplug TV.  Wait at least 15 minutes then replace all batteries in ALL remotes.  Plug TV back in and turn TV on from set.

Maybe, just maybe it will work.  If it does not work why not call Sony, they always say that cannot happen but they have a solution for it.

RCA 52 inch TV (turn on problems and channels rolling) HELP!

Your set uses the 195 series chasis. The only thing I can think of which would make the channels scroll by themselves is a contaminated PC board and pushbuttons behind the buttons on the front of the set. This is usually the case when spray cleaner or some other fluid is sprayed or spilled on the screen, and it drips down onto that board. To prove this, remove the back cover and on the top of the main chassis, where the top of the picture tubes are, is a small PC board with the remote reciever and a couple of jacks. The smaller jack is for the speakers and the larger jack is for the front panel PC board. Unplug the larger connector which goes up to the front PC board and then turn the set on with the remote. If the set works normally, the front PC board will have to be removed and cleaned or repaired (or just leave the jack unplugged and work the TV from the remote only). If you do not have any experience working inside projection sets then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.

After programming my new universal remote, the tv keeps changing chanels! wont stop!

you need to program your remote control. take the battaries out. and maually turn the tv on. then hit the source you want to view. for example, I want to control the tv set. I push, code search and hold it then push the source button and then release the source button and then release the code search button. now, aim at the tv and then keep pressing power button till it goes off. when the tv is off, hit return or set or something like that.( every remote has different calling for it but still the same function) it should work. try it and let me know.
