You mean you stole or bought a stolen nuvi, if it isnt stolen then ring them up and they will give you a pin to unlock or go to your secret location where you set the pin and it will unlock.

Your nuvi has Garmin Lock activated, a security feature to make the unit useless to thieves and to protect your data if the unit is lost.
Unless you know the security location used when the pin code was set, or can remember (or ask the last owner for) the pin code, then your unit cannot be used without sending it back to Garmin (proof of original purchase required)..

Going back to the security location will unlock the unit but in order to reset the pin code, the original pin code must be input. To unlock the unit, it must be sent back to Garmin.
The only way you can register that gps is have the original owner call Garmin and have them release it from his account, otherwise you could not use it or get it registered..... all Garmin GPS are registered to unlock maps....and all have a SECURITY FEATURE in them in case of lost or stolen.

To set the Garmin Lock on the device:
From the Main Menu, touch the Wrench (Tools) icon.
Touch Settings.
Touch Security. (you may need to touch the down arrow button)
Touch the tab labeled Off next to the Garmin Lock heading.
The nuvi will prompt you to enter a four-digit pin number.
Enter a four-digit code as your pin.
Re-enter the four-digit pin.

to a 'Security Location' and let the unit acquire satellites (the
security location will unlock the unit if the pin is forgotten or lost).

The Garmin Lock feature also learnt a place called 'Security Location' when you locked it. Go there and turn the receiver on. It should automagically work.
If you forget your PIN, and your Security Location, Garmin cannot
unlock your GPS over the phone; you must send your GPS to Garmin to get
it unlocked. Garmin may charge you for this service. If you do
send the unit back to Garmin to be unlocked and you are found not to be
the original owner of the GPS and it's determined to be stolen, Garmin
will contact law enforcement.
The only way to unlock a PIN locked Garmin is to enter the correct PIN or take the unit to the location at which the PIN was entered. Your only other option is to send the unit to Garmin.
