Have installed new ice maker in a kenmore bottom freezer. Cannot get water to enter new ice maker to make ice.

If it's a new in-wall run to it, standard 1/2" is fine. From the wall to the freezer you can do 3/8" or 1/2"
An ice maker doesn't use a lot of water so you can consider it a low demand system. If you're connecting from wall to freezer most hardware stores have premade hoses; just like the water hoses for a washer or a toilet.

The freezer must be below 12 degrees before the ice maker will activate. If it's o.k. then follow the steps outlined below. It will solve your problem.

First step is to take a small paper cup of water and fill the cavity until it is near full. With the ice maker turned on, close freezer door and wait 3 hours to see if it harvests. If not, the ice maker is bad, and must be replaced. If the cubes harvest then.......
Three possibilities.
1. The water supply from the house is not delivering water to the water valve. Shut off the house at the meter, disconnect the line going to the water valve, and with the line pointed into a bucket, have someone turn the valve back on for a 15 second count. The water should come out smartly. If not, the line and it's fittings will have to be replaced.
2. The fill tube from the back of the machine that feeds water into the back of the ice maker is frozen up. You will have to remove the ice maker to visually inspect that tube. If blocked, it needs to be defrosted, but use caution. Too much heat too fast will start to melt plastic and vinyl parts you don't want melted.
If this is the case, then once cleaned out, you will have to change the water valve located in the back bottom rear of the machine because it is leaking during the off cycle.
3. If everything checks O.K. up to this point, you will have to purchase and install a new water valve, and install it.
P.S. Under very rare occasions the electric circuity in the ice maker will fail to send a signal to the water valve. Although rare, it can happen, in which case the best option is to replace the ice maker and water valve.

First off the freezer must must be at 10 degrees or lower. The ice-maker will lock out automatically at any temperature above 12 degrees.

you can check the fill tube in the freezer make sure it is not blocked with frozen water. if you can disconnec the water supply line from the fill tube try and reset the ice maker to advance it to a new cycle and if water come out of the supply line the you knwo there is a blockage if no water comes out the the ice maker may be bad or the fill valve is bad. last thing you may need to call a service tech out to find the problem.good luck i hope that this has helped some what.i would like to knwo how thing go for you

Sounds like you may have a couple of problems here. The frost build up could be from a bad door seal. Moist air can be drawn in and collect on the inside. As for the water temp, it sounds like the water line connected to the refrigerator could be tapped off a hot water line. It needs to be connected to a potible cold water line.

the problem is an unlevel icemaker to prove this do you see little droplets of water freezing from the icemaker or a remote possibilty is do you have to an R/O system and have you change the filter if unit has one.

Water valve is a dual valve. One for water, one for ice. Switch the wires to test.

If its broken is probably better and cheaper to get a new one than try to fix it or pay to somebody to do it.First unppluged the fridge take the two scrwes that holds the ice maker to the freezer side wall and another one in the bottom of the ice maker once is loose you'll see a plastic plug ,pull itout and you can take the machine off and put a new one.When installing the new one make sure that the filling plastic tube is right through the hole in the back of the ice maker.
