I cannot get my Windows 7 HP laptop to recognise

I cannot get my Windows 7 HP laptop to recognize my Logitech V400 Laser cordless mouse. I have downloaded Set-point 4.8. Go to Mouse and it says I have a USB mouse without the logitech drivers.I reset the mouse have a new battery. No response.

    THANKS FOR TRYING TO HELP. I HAVE DOWNLOADED SETPOINT 4.80.103 WITH THE DRIVER 4.82.11. WHEN I GO TO MOUSE SETTINGS IT SHOWS THE ALPS KEYPAD MOUSE AND A USB COMPATIBLE MOUSE BUT NO LOGITECH. WHEN I OPEN SETPOINT IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY MOUSE SETTINGS.
    I HAVE REMOVED AND RE-INSTALLED 3 TIMES. I AM USING WINDOWS 7 64 BIT HOME.

I purchased a HP laptop, Windows 7. I installed

You have to install the software that came with the wireless mouse. I have several, and some will and others won't work without the software. That is 90% what it is.

have you changed mousing surfaces?
sometimes a glossy or irregular mousepad can cause this, as the laser bounces at odd angles back into the mouse.

Also, check under Control Panel > Mouse > and the configuration for the mouse that the drivers give you. there might be a sensitivity slider as well.

Logitech V320 cordless optical mouse-work with Win ME?

No, the drivers will only support windows XP at the lowest.

But windows ME will support a standard serial mouse, which are still available, the drivers are already installed.

Usb mouse on laptop

go to start>>control panel>>add and remove porgrams.
uninstall all of the Logitech software related to the optical mouse.
restart the computer, plug in the mouse usb, the windows OS should automatically detected the mouse.
Windows OS has logitech mouse driver buldin. you don't need additiona; software.

V400 Laser Cordless Mouse for notebooks

lol. Acer lies. In no size, shape, or form, can a mouse (particularly a good brand like logitech) cause a corrupted harddrive... May be a software problem from spyware, to adware, to a virus... They don't kno what they are talking about.
