here is what you do when you got your pc did it come with any HP or Compaq recovery disks here is what you do if it did here is the link http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07145&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=501310 if you do not have the disks here is what you do when the Compaq or HP logo screen pops up you press F10 and it should pop up HP or Compaq PC recovery and it will restore the computer like it was when you received it. Just to let you know that when you do that you will have to update and reinstall anything that you put on your computer when you receved it. i hope that this helps you out.
