Adjust your thickness guage as card stock is 3 or 4 times thicker than a 20lb plain paper stock. Here is link to a helpful media guide for HP printers.

NP I've been supporting Digital Printing companies for 20 years - and in my home I found using the manufactures paper stock and toners make the difference as well.

how do you like that printer (asside from recent issue) I need a new color printer for the house and I'm sure my wife will want to also print pictures of the baby.

Will this printer print on heavy card stock and

Yes the 2600 will print on heavy card stock and vellum paper. I had one and did some landscape proposals on this printer and also printed on card stock as well.

HP LJ 2600 "dirty" printing

Hi,

If the toner cartridges are "refills" that might explain some of your print quality issues. Unfortunately, HP only has 2 replacement parts for that model, the fuser and the ETB (Transfer belt) both would require a technician to replace. Check the transfer belt of any tears or punctures. Careful not to touch it, oils from your skin can cause quality issues as well. If at all possible replace all the toners with ones that were working fine.

HP Printers: 2600 and 3100N are printing streaks of lines.

2 things;
1. Try cleaning the print head assembly - including the plastic band that runs from 1 side through print head to the other side.
2. Check the driver for printer, reinstall if above does not work.

HP laserjet 5000N - Paper jam under the cartridge every time try to print

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Blinking yellow light

Hi,
I m not sure what the specification of the paper type you are using however if you are using card stock than you should use manual feed Tray and in the printer driver properties you should select paper type as Card-Stock to make sure there is no print quality issue.

HP 2600 ghosting

It is a massive pain but a solution that worked for me is to run a 'clean' after every card stock sheet. I know it's wicked awful but it actually worked and I had to run 100 times (one for each good color card stock)
First put plain paper in tray 2
Next
Hit left arrow until you get to 'system service' and press green check
Next
then go to 'clean' and press check
Now it should print a clean image without ghosting
