All projectors run a self diagnosis when you press the power button. This does a kind of "pre flight check". If some component isn't working right then the projector won't fire up.
There's no mystery to these status lights. The answer to what they show is written in the manual. Sorry to be blunt, but if you had bothered to read your manualthen you would know that red green flashing power light means that the lamp housing cover isn't closed properly. If it is the status light, then it means that the lamp has gone past its due time for replacement. I only know this because I read the bit in the manual just now about the Status Lights.
From the sound of your description of your problem you likely have a defective lamp. Feel free to give us a call at 866-764-5822 and we would be happy to help you troubleshoot the problem over the telephone.
The two most likely causes are either lamp failure, which is especially likely if the projector has been used in a portable capacity and moved whilst running, or another equally likely culprit will be that one of the cooling fans may not be starting up. You may be able to see this when you turn it on - if the blades of any of the cooling fans either do not move, or move only slightly and stop, then this will be causing the control system to shut down the projector
If it is neither of these causes, then it will most probably be either a temperature sensor or power supply fault
the red is cutting out. white=blue+green+red. without red, you get blu+green, or cyan. if this was an lcd projector, i'd say it's a burnt light filter, the red lcd, or the lcd has come unplugged. but since this is a dlp projector, you have either a dmd board issue or a main board issue. either way, it'll be pricey.
