Wacom Tablet 3/4 Failure

I don't often use my tablet. When I picked it up to draw a quick picture after about two months of being idle I found only one quarter of it works. All of the rest of it is unresponsive. Is it broken? Is there such a thing as repairing it? I live in a small town so there aren't many specialized computer repair people. Is it worth a repair or would I be better off buying a new one?

When my Bamboo Fun tablet sits idle for about 10 minutes, it stops working properly. The pen responds more like a mouse, is not pressure sensitive in photoshop, and stops making the clicking noise. I at first thought it was my screensaver, but even after disabling the screensaver, it still stops working. The only way to reset the tablet is to put the computer in sleep mode and then wake it up. What gives? Are there any fixes?

I got the problem fixed with the help of Wacom support. After downloading the latest driver version which didn't work, this solution did the trick:
Open the Wacom Tablet Control Panel
Click on the About button at the bottom
Hold down the Control key on your keyboard while clicking on Diagnose
You will see a Diagnostic window and at the bottom you should see a Recalibrate button. If you don't see it close the window and repeat the process above making sure the Control key is held down while clicking on Diagnose. The recalibrate option won't be there if the Control key isn't used.
Click on the Recalibrate option. When it completes (it is very quick) you will be back at the Diagnostic window but the Recalibrate option is no longer there. That indicates it did the recalibration.
Check in the Tablet info and make sure it properly identifies your tablet size.
Close up the control panel and try the tablet.
If it still isn't reaching the whole tablet do the recalibrate process one more time.
Even though the Recalibrate button 'did' appear afterwards, the tablet was fixed.

Illustrator CS5 does not recognize my graphic pen, wether with the Wacom tablet or my new Monoprice tablet. It draws a yellow sticky note kind of thing, it is annoying and I can't find a solution,

I too have a tablet not made by Wacom. For some reason, Illustrator only opens the tablet-sensitive definitions for Wacom. The solution I found: Go to the Wacom site, install the latest intuos driver. You won't be using it, but it will trick Illustrator into thinking there's a Wacom installed, the definitions will be active for your pen. Mine seems to work fine now.

Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet-Mac. Yellow box pops up under pen cursor.

Your tablet is set under the handwriting setting. Go to system preferences and select ink under hardware. Then turn off handwriting recognition.

When I go into certian programs like inkscape or the newer Gimp my wacom pen wont draw, but it will select items. yet if I use an older gimp 2.0 it works fine I have the intuos 3 ptz -431w actually it did...

I didn't solve it myself (a lady named Linda deserves the credit) ... but the solution at the following URL worked for me when I encountered the same problem with inkscape0.47 and intuos 4 wacom tablet pen:

Have the graphire 3 tablet, Not working well.

Wacom tablet not plugged into your computer with the USB cable.

Go to Add/Remove Programs, (Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs), and -> Remove
the Wacom software.

Restart your computer.
After Windows XP has fully loaded again, install the Wacom Graphire 3 CD, in your CD/DVD drive. Reinstall the software.

If you had to reinstall your Windows XP operating system, you may have corrupted some of the Wacom tablet's drivers. (Hence the shaky stylus cursor) Removing the Wacom software, and reinstalling it will repair.

Now plug the Wacom tablet into your computer.
You should see the, "Found New Hardware", pop-up out of your taskbar tray.

The Wacom website has a note about this in their support section. Don't glue it.

Driver don´t work (MacOSX Leopard

I had the same problem, and finally I found a solution (as stupid as I don't know I didn't think about it before). Try to uninstall the driver (application > wacom tablet > uninstall) then download the last driver (june 2008 I think) and install it

Marks..ugh

My Bluetooth tablet does that occationally. Perhaps there is a wireless signal inturptig the wacom signal. I find cycling the tablet off then on will fix this. A bit annoying but the only solution I have found so far.
