Help I recorded over a folder for a few seconds by mistake, the folder was over 6 hours long, and I can't seem to retrieve the old recordings, just what was recorded over, is my recording lost forever or can I somehow retrieve it? Thanks

The only source for the previous records of your propane payments is through the website of the company which supplies you with propane.

Note: In the future, you can save the monthly statements you obtain online from the propane company. I copy my monthly utility statements and paste them into Word documents. I keep them in a file in my Documents folder on my computer.

If you made your propane pre-payment with a written check or through an electronic payment through your bank, the bank will have a record of the payment you have in dispute with the propane company. Contact (telephone or visit) your bank and speak with a bank officer about how you can retrieve your payment records.

Hello you can erase the recorded messages one by one or all massages in folder at time

Note once a recording has been erased, you cannot retrieve it.

Erasing messages one by one

1 Press ERASE while playing back the massage you want to erase or press ERASE for more than 1 second during stop mode.

A beep will sound and the message number and "ERASE" will flash while the first and last 5 seconds of message is played back 10 times

2 Press ERASE while the message is being played back.

The message is erase and the remaining messages will be renumbered. (For example, if you erase Message 3. When erasing is completed, the unit will stop at beginning of the following message.)

Erasing all messages in a folder

1 Press FOLDER to select the folder you want to erase.

2 While pressing STOP, press ERASE for more than 1 second.

"ALL ERASE" will flash for 10 seconds

While the display is flashing, press ERASE.

if the power is interupted or improperly unplugged from the computer, the files may be corrupted... try to play the files and while playing move them to another folder... this may get your files back... else you will need to clear the recorder by pressing stop and erase at the same time for about 3 seconds.

Resetting the Recorder (CLEAR)
This function resets the current time and other settings to their initial
status. It is useful if you are having problems with the recorder, or if you
want to erase the entire memory of the recorder.
1 Hold the STOP button, and hold the ERASE button for 3
seconds or longer.
2 Press the FF or REW button to select the “YES”.
3 Press the PLAY button.

I had a similar problem with my Sony 14E in that it would not record at all - sound or pictures. Prior to that I had the lines indicating head cleaning necessary. I did this, and still nothing. I then did the following which you might try.
1. Clean the heads (I did it about 3 times in the space of a couple of hours).
2. Leave the camera tape section open (with or without the tape in) for a couple of hours and the camera in a WARM PLACE. I had condensation message prior to my problems too.
3. Put in a recorded tape and attempt to view it. Immediately I had the "dirty" lines for a few seconds then it played the recording.
AT THAT STAGE I TRIED TO RECORD - NOTHING.
Repeat Steps 1 - 3 because this seems to be about dirt and cold.
4. When step 3 is reached again! try to record. Eventually this worked for me.

on your computer, you will need some sort of media recovery software. also go to options under the tools menu and uncheck delete after transfer to turn off deletion. this is usually best since you can delete the files through the recorder by the erase button

The ERR message can only be corrected by holding in the DISP/MENU and STOP buttons for two seconds, which results in all the material on the recorder being erased. Daylight savings time change a few months ago messed up the timer recording schedule - you must now fix it. Daylight savings time changes will always mess up this recorder. You must reset your recording schedule.

If no signal is present at the time the recording is scheduled to start, the recording will be skipped.

Make sure you have followed all instructions on pp. 55-58

try to connect the recorder to the PC and with the Olympus DSS Player Version 7 change the folders name to default

what do you mean? you can set it to record mon-fri or
weekly. you do that on the timer. if you want to record the whole 6 or 8 hour tape
just press record the tape will go off itself at end of tape some vcrs you can set manual timers by pressing record button
more than once and can set to record up to 6 or 8 hours .
if it don't do that just leave it on record it will fill up tape until end
but will stay on same channel.
timers are unreliable if u make just one mistake it might miss
the show.
