Is there any computer connected to the router ?
If not then connect the computer to the router.
check the IP address and the default gateway of the router.
open the set up page of the router.
there you will find the place to place to open the ports on the router.

I want to connect my xbox 360 to xbox live through my dsl-200 modem but it only has 2 ports, what do I do?

D-Link routers empower gamers to easily connect their Microsoft xbox to network and experience lag-free online gaming. All you need is a D-Link router to go along with your broadband connection and xbox Live subscription and you can go head to head with friends and adversaries from around the world.

The D-Link DI-624 Wireless Broadband Router, DI-614+ Wireless Broadband Router, and the D-Link DI-604 Broadband Router have all passed the tests for compatibility with Microsoft xbox Live with specific firmware. Just download the specific compatible firmware listed below to your D-Link router before connecting to xbox Live.

  • Click here to upgrade your firmware.
  • Click here for xbox Live setup instructions with a router.
  • For xbox Live support, please visit www.xbox.com.

Just purchased new xbox. Xbox live was working fine when hardwired, but computer and xbox will not work thru wireless. It finds the router, but when I try to open the internet or connect to xbox live it...

I had a similar problem a while back with a netgear gateway. All four ethernet ports on the back worked but it wouldn't work with wifi. I had taken it apart and found that the antenna solder point had came loose. If the antenna isn't hooked up it won't send out a signal. Mine broke because it fell off of the back of my tv

    Dlink di-524 connect to RV042

    Hi.

You need to cascade the Dlink wireless router to your RV042.

Suppose your RV042 has a default IP Address of 192.168.1.1, and the DLINK IP uses 192.168.0.1. Your Physical connection is from the regular port of the RV042 going to the WAN/Internet Port of the DLink wireless router.

Once you do that, your Dlink router should automatically obtain an IP from the main router. If it did, configure your wireless settings and you should be able to connect via wireless.

This is just one way to cascade your router to another router.

    DI-524 Wireless

    Yes you can, it's easy.

    1. Just connect one of the LAN ports of the DI-524 to a LAN port of your other router. Leave the DI-524 WAN port empty.
    2. Disable the DHCP server on your DI-524, your other router will be the DHCP server.
    3. Assign a static IP address to you DI-524, different from your other router's. Example, if your other router has 192.168.2.1, you may assign 192.168.2.4. Make sure that the IP address you assign is outside the DHCP range configured in your other router and that the subnet mask is identical on both.

    Port Fowarding Issue

    Hi Noshhit,

On your Xbox, go to the dashboard, move along to the 'system' tab (the furthest right tab), then go down to "Edit Settings" and you will see your IP info in basic settings. Your Ip is there.
    Good Luck!
